Quick update I have re-coloured retsu's stage and now have geki's stage complete. 32 colours and dynamic colour allocation really helps and is speeding up development. Once the stages are complete I will move to enemy animations and finally enemy A.I.

I would advise to use one of those text-to-speech engines to say the sentences, still better than the cranky version of the arcade

Thanks guys and @simon69 as the voices were so bad I was thinking of just leaving them out.

Just finished joe's stage.

edit: updated the github page there is a file disk.adf if you want to test it just use fire to skip vs screens and space to skip stages.

If you have bandwidth i can suggest to use sprites for cloud parallax, will definitely NOT be arcade perfect but an improvement to the tiertex ugliness; if you already considered this and discarded it disregard this message

I tried to make parallax work but had to settle for static backdrops.

"Dha ah mene faataa ohh ove d wohdh" - that is how it does sound WHEN you can hear it, due to music too loud

Simply record the music and voices + fx via BridgeM1.

This all looks great, but please for the love of god...can you allow the use of a 512K RAM expansion? I've talked with the composer of Retsu's stage theme about this project, and he said the stock memory is really limiting when it comes to music

Working to optimize the joints of the sky and elements might reduce a bit the size of the images - actually i think should be possible to split those picture in tiles 16x16 in TilEd and remove the close duplicates - am especially thinking at Mount Rudhmore, the great wall and those other places with big empty areas

It would be very interesting to see how your work compares with the above. Do you plan to try out a Mega Drive export as well?

I have not thought about exporting to megadrive but if its no extra work why not.

Just as a update i am down to the last stage and it really is a boss stage as reducing the colours for this stage is very difficult.
