Anyways, this is not a patent issue - Majsta did not make those HDMI connectors, which is what is covered by patents. The problem is using HDMI connectors (that are covered by a patent) on a product without having the license to do so. This nonsense could easily have been avoided by using a license-free connector, for example by just providing pin headers for a DVI connector on a break-out board. I find the current HDMI solution very cumbersome, with the need of extender and sometimes signal repeaters.
