Can you see the CF card as CF0: in format utility? Is it even mounting the CF0? |

Yep, that seems to confirm that the CF card is incompatible and you'll have to try another card, mai.
Users' experience indicates that SanDisk cards are the most compatible devices. |

Is it possible with a boot disc, to turn an PCMCIA compact flash adaptor in a hard disk?
Or can this only be done through the IDE-Compact Flash route? I have an Amiga 600. Thanks |

It is possible. But not to boot from the PCMCIA CF. As storage device the rig is OK.

I have been using Generic SanDisk adapter with 32MB and 256MB CF cards no problem with drivers from Aminet. I'm using it to transfer files from PC to Amiga.

Hiya,
Stay away from this CF!! It does NOT work on the PCMCIA !! (did not try this on the CF->IDE)... I think its a 'removable type' CF (not fixed disk mode)... as my divIDE (on the Spectrum) cannot recognize it too... Chris |

I can confirm this, these cards suck at pcmcia slot usage. They work fine as HDD using CF->IDE adapter though.

I just got one standard A600 with 37.300 roms and haven't tried to connect HDD to it yet. But from the post around I guess the chances of working are quite slim. On the other hand I'm not that experienced with Amigas so a premade ADF with PCMCIA support would be very welcome

Always worth a try. It's not so black and white with 37.300, just remember that it MAY be why your HD is not compatible.

Hello ,
I've bought a pcmcia adaptator kit from amigakit , I installed the softawre coming with , plugged the adaptor first with a "Hamma" CF card and my A600 froze after loading workbench.... Then , Davideo (really nice person) sent me another CF card,a "Iomega" , i plugged it in my adaptator , my workbench loaded well and showed me the card as NDOS disk , so i formated it in windows in fat32 , replugged it in my adaptator and...refreeze !! I can see both cards in "prepcard" but it's not posible to format them , "no disk present in CF0" My config is : A600 rom 3.1 , Bloodwych classic workbench for 3.1 rom , 2mb chip and (when not trying to use the adaptator) 4mb fast pcmcia ,ide CF adaptator with 1gig CF. Is my config a problem ? Should i buy a Sandisk CF card ? This is really |

I'm noticing all these are Compact Flash. Would an SD card reader like this one work?

I tried and put the one from A1200 - 4GB in size. On power up the screen stays black (dark gray) and nothing happens. Since that CF is configured with SFS file system and IDE-FIX97 could this be a problem? I don't have any spare CF to reconfigure it for A600 at the moment.
