I received my assembled unit this week. It works perfectly with all the games that I tried it and I prefer it to the CD32 original and dualshock2 pads that I was using until now, its D-Pad is a better match for my left thumb.
Thanks |

is this 100% safe and does it do standard 2 btn mode aswell as cd32? i keep hearing that my megadrive pad will fry my Amiga and C64 and was wondering if this was a good replacement?

It's a CD32 pad, so it's 100% safe and compatible, and yes, it will work as regular 2 button when there's no CD32 pad support

I wouldn't use it on a C64 either though. |

The difference is that the shift register of the original gamepad is replaced with an Atmega microprocessor that simulates the shift register (and allows for more features). Like the original gamepad, signals go through a 74LS125 buffer, so the electronic "interface" to the Amiga is the same. I remember reading that it's unsafe to connect a Mega Drive controller to the Amiga or C64, I don't remember why though. The Mega Drive gamepads are different totally different and will only work as a 2 button gamepad. EDIT: Akira was faster On Akiras note about the C64: Like the original CD32 gamepad, it will work on the C64 but it interferes with some keys on the keyboard. The reason for this is that some pins are pulled high (+5V) through 10Kohm resistors, when on a joystick they are either not connected or shorted to ground when a button is pressed etc. I assume it's safe to use on the C64 since the pins are not connected directly to +5V, but it's not very practical since it interferes with the keyboard. Im very interested in 2 assembled and tested Pads in black. By the way does anyone know if someone produces new ac-adapters for my amiga1200 which are small and still have enough juice for an 68030-powered amiga? maybe in the size of an notebook-ac-adapter with a nice case?
Best Regards |

I changed the name of the gamepad from ProCon CD32 to KTRL CD32 (pronounced control obviously ). There is an active trademark for ProCon, different field of business but I want to avoid the possible hassle it could cause.
Ok, I will add you to my list! |

Looks like you have a steady stream of orders, and hey, I "need" one too. ;-)
Declaring interest in one fully assembled (black) unit, whenever you got the time for it. |
