BTW, it seems that you just need to fool dmotion.library to make the system work. I attached them because I am not sure how the video framebuffer information is generated, and it seems one of the Philips chips has an overlay function that perhaps could be the key to that (I dont know for sure). And on the other hand, it is just general information, which it doesnt hurt to be available if needed. |

I'd be happy to contribute to the Send Toni a Casablanca Fund, if you're still collecting.

Fantastic, thanks man It's probably time I should find myself a SCSI caddy on eBay to put in my Cassie then; there wasn't any point when I didn't have software. Have no use for a video editor at all, more interested in where this all goes next

dtc -p -fdiskname/track -i0 -z3 -i4 -l8 Just change diskname to match what your disk's label is (the text "track" is used as the beginning of the filenames that get created in the directory called "diskname"). Use quotes around the label if you use spaces, or just replace the spaces with underscores to avoid having to use quotes. No spaces between the switches and their arguments. would that mean you could create a english install disk then that could be installed on mine? If so that would be super cool, I know i've only just signed up on here but I am a frequent poster of retrogaming forums/twitter etc. and I also love collecting old technology. Besides old computers/consoles I have over 30 video camera's and loads of multitrack recording studio's lol... I just can't help myself https://twitter.com/hell_retro Last edited by retromax; 21 March 2018 at 07:54. |

There seems to be loads of those floppy disk drive emulators around these days running in old computers, keyboards and samplers etc. Does anyone know if the Casablanca would be able to read these dumped disk images in that way?

Casablancas were being massed produced between 1996 up to the year 2000 by Siemens Ag. They were replaced by the AVIO which was much cheaper to produce. The AVIO was PC based, not a 68k architecture. So they ported the entire interface from the 68k to the x86. The underlying OS also transitioned from AmigaOS to Wind River Systems VXWorks (they called it Smart Edit). This change did cut down the customer price in half but added lot of instability and bugs. And reasonably enough the huge amount of sales they had were starting to drop down since PCs could now finally edit digital video in a stable manner, and they were much more affordable and versatile than before. I remember reading about them about 1998 but owning one back then was just a pipe dream for me, I started editing video on a pc around 2000 when Adobe Premiere came bundled with my capture card. It’s only taken me 20 years to get one! Lol but now it’s about the fact that I always wanted one and one just came within my grasp, I love old technology and learning about this is gonna be fun as I’m gonna capture some vhs and pretend it’s 1998, life was good Back then I still had my parents and what seemed like all the time in the world. Currently I’m using google translate to get my head around this, it would be nice to have it in English but if that never comes to fruition it seems like a simple interface to learn via buttons. I know bewerken means ‘edit’ so my translation there is I bewerken on this video... Lol
