Just stumbled across this auction here: http://cgi.ebay.de/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=261711534352

For sale are 6 pieces of 1 MB 30-pin SIMMs fast page on ebay Germany. Ending tomorrow and there are no bids up to now. I know that some folks were searching for those SIMMs quite extensively, so maybe somebody needs them (not my auction btw) Happy bidding!

Your missing something.

Not that I would pay that sort of money for it, but i'm not exactly in shock seeing people do it.

And how can it be factory sealed if someone has verified and graded it?

The packaging, meaning, the factory seal, has been inspected. Not the game cartridge it self.

To a certain extent i can see why people would pay a lot for it, maybe up to $5-10k at most, even then i still think it isn't worth that much.

And to be honest i think paying us$100k is just stupidity in the extreme!

Check the list of retractions, and cancellations of bids...
It's quite telling.

I see what you mean, that NES cart has dropped down from us$100k to us$35k, still 22hrs left on it though.

Currently the winning bid is just about a week old. I'm going to guess that who ever wins it wont even know they have the winning bid, and just placed a bid, like everyone else, not really intending to buy it. Stupid thing to do, but they are hardly the only ones. However, we might currently be looking at what it's "actually worth" to the right buyer. I just doubt it's the current highest bid holder that is that buyer.

If you buy it, you can open it.I'd LOVE to see the seller and buyers meet somewhere in public, perhaps on a convention for collectors, get called on a stage to talk about the trade, hand the item over, and THEN ask what your intention with the item is, and have the audience response to you answering the question of what your going to do with your purchase now... " Why, i'll go straight home, open it, and put it in my NES to play it, of course."

That would be SO cool!

Uh... If your saying, what i think you are, then, of course, thats the whole point. Why else would you get a reaction out of the spectators...

Amiga 500, 1084S monitor, joystick and a bunch of games.......taaadaaaa!!! 450€

It comes to my mind several words to define such a price but, unfortunately, all of them are insults.

There appears to be a nice lot of non working accelerators which might be of interest to hardware tinkerers on Ebay:

http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Amiga-to-Mac-...item19fafadc9c
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Amiga-2000-30...item19fafad1f8
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Amiga-2000-GV...item19fafacd2f
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Amiga-2000-68...item19fafac000
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Amiga-4000-30...item19fafaa98c

From the pictures the cards appear to be in a good state and the starting prices are very reasonable.

One can only hope now that people aren't going to stupidly bid these up to high heaven.

Ebay rule 1: never bid before the very last minute. Place your maximum bid at the last minute and look away, this way you win on three points:
- impulse control: no time to obey our (human but stupid) impulse to overbid
- price control: does not contribute to artificially inflate prices during the bidding period
- no regrets because it's essentially a lottery between last minute maximum prices (which is what a real auction is)
