Well, I would argue that drawers can be projects just as much as files can be projects - it is really up to the user.
Can I pretty please have this cleverness somehow disabled? |

I am back on icon.library 45.1 from BB1 and it works as I want it, I am happy that this mystery is solved for me Last edited by kolla; 24 September 2015 at 19:33. |

Update to icon.library 46.4.413:
Project icons containing a default tool entry already are no longer converted into drawer icons automatically when a directory with the same name exists. |

there was a nice "feature" with kiskstart v1.3 (or v2.0) that I found when copying floppies on my hard drive by drag and drop of the floppy icon : at a moment I thrown a non standard boot floppy to copy and was surprised to see that there was one drawer with the floppy contents created AND a file with the same name with .ks extension ! the copy process has recognised a non standard boot block and copyied it in that file. cool.
I've tryied this with all the new kickstarts after and discovered that that "feature" was gone :-( |

Are you really sure that this *.ks feature was supplied by the OS 1.3 and not depending on an additional patch that had to be installed to do this trick ??
I can't remember anything like such a feature from my early Amiga2000 times with OS 1.3. And I cannot add something like that to the icon.library. It would belong to the dos.library. I guess, the support for extra kickstart disks was a feature of some early Amiga models only. (A1000 or A3000 maybe ??) I've seen that on my A3000/25 at that time ^^) there was v1.3 and v2.0 hard drive loaded kickstarts on it and standard wb intalls on both sides. so it should be a "standard" feature ... for the .ks suffix I'm not so sure btw, perhaps it was .bb, I remember that the kickstart disks mounts on wb as KS...

I regret, but I can not give you any qualified help for this subject since I never owned an A1000 or A3000 and thus have no experience with kickstart disks at all.
Maybe somebody else here at EAB can give you some more information about this feature? (Start a thread) |

What to compare exactly?
Which two versions of icon.library? Which config? CPU, GFX, screenmode, WB or DOpus5? |

DOpus, AGA, 030 comparing to the former lib. Sorry I didn't have to make the question that way, it was surely just a feeling.

Ok, I've compared 46.4.409 and 414 with OpenWin.rexx on WB and on DOpus5, but I couldn't notice any remarkable speed differences. Maybe some other changes in your system are responsible for your feeling.
PS.: Could it be a new bitch on the wallpaper that makes you a little tired? |

Update to icon.library 46.4.415:
Replaced all FindTask(NULL)-calls with directly reading of the "ThisTask" entry in the execbase structure to save a few bytes and CPU cycles. |

I've only tried it on WinUAE by now, but you know we only can find the difference using it for real with slower hardware. Last edited by Retrofan; 02 December 2015 at 02:22. |
