Re-registered..

Sorry for the bump, could someone drop the good version in the zone again please, my copy (and manual) are getting a bit worn out Thanks!

[Edit] I also seem to remember there being more sounds, the intro had a boom sound when the bike crashed in the jungle and the small cines had tunes with them as well. Am I getting the ami version confused with the megadrive version? I'm sure I had full sounds on the A590. cheers.

sounds/cine depends if you're running from floppy or HD.

Weird. I have done a HD install on an WinUAE A1200 and I can't get the full sound working. I might pull the a500+a590 out to verify the cine sounds actually work.

Ooops, a bit late to reply but anyway... dlfrsilver, is this not the same as the IPFs that I used to make "Flashback [adf from ipf].zip"?

1) 1163 Flashback 4 English OCS EU Retail: v1.0 22.4.93
2) 1885 Flashback 4 English OCS EU Retail: Delphine Collection

The first one (1163) has code protection but the second one (1885) doesn't

Good news for people using WinUAE, just use the .ipf files for release 1885...

For real Amiga users, I tried running Xcopy Professional from WinUAE, leaving everything as default and then copying the .ipf files to blank .adf files. I then tested loading the game until the start of Level 1 (which is Disk 2) and all seemed fine

Guess I just need to play test these "new" .adf disks to make sure that they are working 100% (which they hopefully should be)...

After roughly 4.5 hours of play testing, I'm very happy to report that this version has no protection what-so-ever and works 100% (on Easy level anyway)

Things to note (that are not important):

... I guess that U.S. Gold / Dephine Software re-arranged file location on this Delphine Collection. Levels 6 + 7 are disk 4 but:

a) On Level 6, after picking up the Diary, you are asked for disk 3 then disk 4 again. On "protected" version you are not...
b) On Level 7, after taking the final lift into the escape spaceship, your are asked for disk 3, then disk 4, then disk 1. Usually on "protected" version you are only asked for disk 1 then 4 again...

Hi boys,
someone known why the Flashback [adf from ipf].zip 100% version is not in tosec?
Is because is derived by IPF version?

Because the current naming of the TOSEC disks was fixed first before new ones are added (thanks to mai ). Maybe there will be another big update relatively soon, but give it some time.

According to my notes, they miss the checksum protection in level 7. I only tried the versions that I had access to, so there might be one working out there. I did an English crack a number years ago that I verified it works on easy. Anyone want to try beating it on normal or expert?

Also, all Amiga versions have a gfx glitch bug when Conrad is spying on the aliens in the air ducts. It follows the text, "Thanks to our knowledge, the humans are now capable of producing..." Either the text is missing onscreen or comes out garbled. The missing line is "...the power which we need." The data file contains that dialog, so there's a decoding error somewhere.

Ok, thanks for info.
Maybe you have some additional info for me, because you have crack and coding ability.
Do you know, if the protection of this game is on Disk 1 only, or contains any file on disks 2 - 4 something protection related?

I noticed that it's been 6(!) years since I touch it. I only remember the executable having the protections.

Thanks again, personally i also dont think, that there is a protection on disks 2 - 4.
I have compared scene released Disks against french IPF Disks and cant see any difference.
I speak about Interpol/Infect release, a member here dont like, how TOSEC disks are actually named.
I dont call something cracked/fixed, if a disk is untouched!

The executable is only on Disk 1, so your assumption is correct. Disks 2-4 were labeled as Interpol as they were the ones released it. I see what you are trying to accomplish with TOSEC, I do agree in part, but would that lead to confusion if someone is trying to locate the other 3 disks of a particular crack?
