Non-matched vsync modes have never been supported. Disable vsync and use fps. adv-setting if you really want to do this.

I forgot about 100/120HZ vsync..

So from now on WinUAE will decide what works best for me? B.C Kid at 60hz is way too fast, disabling vsync makes scrolling choppy and to top it off, screen resolution is now being switched to 320x480@60 (looks like hell on my monitor) instead of 320x512@60 (looks perfect) which my hardware+drivers support

No, there will be enable/option but your first "report" was something that requires crappy answer

Does http://files.winuae.net/beta/winuae.zip zip fix this? (test both "normal" vsync and autovsync modes)

In autovsync: if configured rate was either 100 or 120, it should switch only between 100 and 120 (and same with 50 and 60)

(I can't test, don't have 100Hz capable display)

Both modes works in 100Hz now, smooth as always.

Does switching also work correctly? Select 100Hz + auto, boot with KS3.1+ and enter early boot menu. Pressing space should switch between 100<>120Hz.

Hooray for the non-autovsync mode being back again still, when autovsync is on and as I'd report before (though you probably didn't touch that part of the code for this release) WinUAE will use 320x480@60 instead of 320x512@60 for B.C. Kid when switching from 50hz to 60hz during the intro, but if you already start the game in 320x512@60 + regular vsync, it will remain 320x512@60.

Something I noticed. As soon as you reach this part of the second level in B.C Kid, music will slow down and start crackling. Happens when WinUAE is vsyncing to 60hz. Also, the music is now ultra-fast during the black screen preceding the B.C Kid logo (60hz as well)

turrican freeze after the menu screen with the last beta (8), beta 7 is ok.
version tested : Turrican (1990)(Rainbow Arts)[extended adf]
Turrican (1990)(Rainbow Arts)[cr TRSi][t +1 TRSi] .
config used : a500 bestcompatibility, but with ntsc set.

In fact if you let pal, it's ok, but if you set ntsc it freeze.

I don't remember if it works in ntsc on a true amiga.

bye bye

Turrican used to work using 60hz emulators on a real amiga, I used to do it! Not true NTSC I guess though. I used a disk to force 60hz before playing it.

I guess you mean "version I used at least worked with PAL 60Hz"

Works as designed. As was explained in wishlist thread, "best fit" mode is automatically used.

http://files.winuae.net/beta/winuae_1620b9.zip

Beta 9:

- vsync automatic frequency switching is now optional ("autovsync")
- 100Hz/120Hz supported in vsync automatic switching mode
- "Disable powersaving features" is now "Disable screensaver" (when not active) Screensavers are always disabled when active. Programs shouldn't override "real" powersaving features anymore (and Vista and later will ignore these requests anyway)
- 68020 CE mode all instructions now need at least 1 CPU cycle (1/4 bus cycle) to finish (+any slow chip/custom memory fetches), previously all instructions were instant when accessing fast ram. Better than nothing..
- CPU frequency configuration added (CE-modes only). Fast RAM (and ROM) is always considered wait-state free, chip ram speed does not change. Pre-defined values use main clock as CPU clock source (=includes PAL/NTSC difference), manually typed frequency basically emulate CPU card that has separate CPU clock crystal. For example pre-defined "7MHz" is 7.093790.. if PAL mode) Not very useful in 68020 mode. yet. (see earlier beta change log for explanation)
- copper woke up 1 line too late (and never woke up if waiting for line 255) if wait ended on NTSC long line (this was the real reason for NTSC jumping, b8 hack removed)
- added "cycle_exact" configuration entry, quick way to switch CE on/off with uae-configuration
- wrong/missing display sometimes in "too fast" CPU modes (b5)
