The depth that one can find in the single disk of Frontier is just unbelievable. I could play this game forever.

Seeing as I can vote for more than one game. I'll add votes for Populous Rodland B.C. Kid Switchblade II Although if I could only pick one of those, I'd go with Rodland. One of the few Amiga arcade ports where the Amiga version was actually better in a number of ways than the original arcade version. I understand it had more levels for one thing. |

Frontier was computer magic. It's definitely the greatest achievement in Amiga history. They crammed a more interesting galaxy into a single DD floppy than No Man's Sky did into a BD-ROM.
Honorable mentions go to Lotus II, Rodland, Parasol Stars, Rainbow Islands, Midnight Resistance, Kick Off 2, SWIV and Turrican 2. |

My vote goes to frontier elite 2 don't know how many hours I spent in that game . Remember trying to fly a imperial trader back to sol system and buying a panther clipper and filling it with force field units . Great times and only one DD.

Indeed, I spent far, far more hours on Frontier than any other game, only to be recently overtaken now by Elite: Dangerous. I played Frontier fairly consistently for around 10 years or more I'd say! It still gets the occasional run on the same A1200 it's been installed on all that time...

Not enough love for MICRO MACHINES in this thread.
A single disk has never been a better provider of fun, especially multiplayer, and it had the most worn-out label in all of my disk stash. I never get tired of it! Always wished Micro Machines 2 had made it onto the Amiga as well. |

But yeah, even on its 2 players mode, it was one of the fav games when I had lots of friends at home. And Turrican II was a 1 disk game? My copy had 2 disks... |

Hostages? As great as the concept was, have you tried going back and playing that game recently? Believe me, not fun.

Cracking thread. Only just got around to reading it.
Big up for iddqd and liviux76 for compiling the results!! I would have to say Stunt Car Racer above any other 1 disk game. I'm still addicted to it now! Honourable mentions to: New Zealand Story (damn! Now I can't shake the theme tune!!!) Speedball II (now I need some ice cream...) Frontier - I played this relentlessly when I first got it. Just brilliant! |
