-If I left, for example, Egil and Nelvin to BURNVILLE ISLAND, and myself went to Spannenberg, and thereafter returned to Burnville island, would they be still there..?! Or would they have swam to spannenberg island..? :-)

I *THINK* they return to their set places, which is usually where you found them. But I dunno for sure.
Save, try it and find out |

If you leave them they actually say where they can be found and that is exactly where you found them the first time.

Well, I think I found some new bug..
-When you are in Luminor's tower and are leaded by Nelvin (which is the tallest member of my party!), in some level the roof texture disappear.. and it doesn't seem to affect the game other way or doesn't happen with any other character I tried. :-/ Strange, isn't it ? has anyone found any similar bug ? Don't remember exactly, which floor it was.. |

Some of the textures are a bit screwy in Luminor's Tower. I noticed that some of the UP stairs use the DOWN texture and vice versa.

Oh, so it seems..
But that was the only notable bug-like thing I've found in L's t, expect for one time I was plaing some strange bluish graphics rubbish garbage suddenly appeared to my screen. Just near the bottom line of the 3d display or so. But only once.. Oh, and now my game's progressing very fine.. I've already visited Newlake and Illien, for example. Btw, why isn't Gemstone marked to the Ambermoon map ? It is there somewhere..? |

In the English version of Ambermoon, Luminor's tower of course has the famous bug in one of the doors which makes the unpatched game crash! Beyond that door is the character Vladyn from Lionheart who can join your team. The only way through is with the JUMP spell or to swap files with the ones from the German version for a short while.
This was the first bug found when I played Ambermoon in 1998 for the first time (being the first person ever to play the English version outside Thalion). Heh, the reason Gemstone isn't on the map of Lyramion in Ambermoon is part of one of the adventures. Did you play Amberstar before Ambermoon? |

Well, sure I'm aware of that game-crashing bug.. and I succesfully swapped the files ;-)
And yes, Valdyn is no on my party. He's very strong. Ok, I'll find Gemstone later.. maybe it's better that way. And yes, I played Amberstar for quite a while, and enjoyed it, especially the music. but didn't get even near completing it. Who knows, maybe I'll finish Ambermoon first, and then return playing Amberstar ? :-D |

I loved the diary pages of the Scientist Jonathan in Amberstar. You find them and his inventions all over Lyramion in Amberstar. Some of his inventions survive in Ambermoon.

Oh yeah. If one played both games the whole history joins together at it is interesting to see all the little and the more obvious connections. And there are plenty of them. Wonder how the third part would have been.

Maybe we'll have to make the third Amber trilogy part ourselves ;-)

The best bit of the two games was the input of game creator Karsten Koeper et al.
A game without it would just be another RPG. If you need another fix you can always play Albion by BlueByte for the PC which was done by the Amber series team. Last edited by alexh; 29 March 2008 at 19:57. |

Well, more precisely, how could the Illien riddlemouth bug be overcome..?!
Wasn't it that one, which asks something about holes ? What is the right answer ? |

That is documented on my site. (Bug 9)
The answer is RING, but there are two entries of RING in the dictionaryenglish.file. This can be fixed by changing the other one to 'LOST RING'. Not sure but I think dictionaryenglish.file may be clear text (i.e. not compressed and not encrypted) but I may be wrong. But there is nothing really worth doing behind the riddlemouth if I remember. It's not integral to the overall plot / game. |

Thank you for information.
However, it seems I do currently have two ring words in my game dictionary: "ring" and "rings". So, how could I change it (word "rings" ??!) to "lost ring" ? Btw, I do want to see AL in the game! Even if it's not integral to overall game, I still weant to get past that riddlemouth. How about that in german version ? |

I do not remember which one is for which event. One of them refers to ALKEM's LOST RING. Another puzzle in the game.
I thought the two entries were identical "ring". It is possible you (or someone) may have already fixed it. Try the answer RING or RINGS at the riddlemouth and see if it works? If it doesn't work, I don't remember how to change it. Try using textpad or hexeditor? I am at work now, cant try. The bug is not present in the German version and the answer is REIF (ring in German) Last edited by alexh; 14 April 2008 at 12:46. |

BTW: I am 80% sure you cannot have spaces, so it must be changed to LOSTRING or something...
If I was at home I would know. You could just try changing one of them to any 4-characters long string? |

@alexh
Maybe. Thanks for your kindly help. Will try to solve that problem. However, I did already try the words: ring and rings, to no avail. I did also try lost ring, with space, to no avail. |
