Yes, they are HD floppies. It's a 1600kB disk format.

Hi all, just my first post here as I have a Casablanca on the way!, never used one before so no idea (yet) how it works or what is installed. Doesn't look like there are any floppies or anything with it but apparently it's 'working'.
Just been reading through this thread and was quite pleased to see it's still pretty active and hopefully I will be able to gain some knowledge/help as I go along.
Oh and I do own an Amiga1200 and a 600 too... had them before they were considered retro.

Hi and welcome.

ABout your Cassie that's on the way ... "working" can mean anything I guess. Lot's of people say there old gear is working that they are selling because they see a powerlight and hear a fan buzzing if you know what I mean. But if it shows the "Casablanca" boot screen and you have a working hard drive for it all you need is an installdisk of the harddrive isn't installed yet ( and that's not a real problem anymore as you can read ) . If the HD is working you can back it up with Winuae and a pc with a scsi card in it by the way.

One more Cassie in da house.
Bought it for 8 euros. No floppies, keyboard, mouse.. Its 040 and boots to German version of software. It seems to me that someone already put ide hdd with scsi adapter inside.

First I thought I could send it to Toni cause as he said nothing will happen until all casablancas are in hands of collectors, but when I looked at price of shipping for something that has 10kg I think I understand why nobody still didn't send one to Finland, its 50euros.. too much..

That's no IDE hd but a scsi drive in a scsi cradle ... most if not all are delivered that way.

About shipping to Tony ... if he *really* wants one to do some funny stuff we can all benefit from I guess we can all chip in.

I'm in, apparently. With current situation I have no use of this Cassie, just some illusive hope.
I won't be surprised that Toni is reading this. I hope we'll hear from him soon.

I am interested in getting the hardware (working hardware!) but I can't guarantee when (not if) I am interested enough to actually examine it in detail.

When I purchased my Casablanca it came with a SCSI drive in a cradle.

The more I used it the more I realised that the original drive was too small.

I purchased an after market drive and cradle from a dealer and it arrived as an IDE with a mini converter board in the tray.

Picture on the left is the original drive. On the right is the after market one I purchased. The HD was pinched out of this many years ago.

Fair enough. Interest with no guarantee is good enough for me.

If its enough for other people interested to chip in for shipping, I'll send it.

Yeah I never believe someone saying something is working until I try it for myself but we'll see

Blah, was lazy, but now I've converted the disks I've gotten so far.

Here's some deprotected raws, please try and report back if they work. I'll test later when I have some time to hook up the cassie again if no-one has reported back.
https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...kp?usp=sharing

If anyone has moar disks, I'll fix them up.

Once I have the motivation, I'll also do a Finnish 3.0.8 install disk from the files on my cassie's HD. It might be fun to see if it's possible to cram all the languages on the same disk easily.

It is very likely I won't touch those parts (except to make system think they exists and "work"). Analog video inputs or outputs = no, thanks.
