note that JST isn't free of issues and also crashes sometmes. Whdload works much better on high end amigas, whereas JST does its best on low-spec machines (including kickstart 1.3), so it still has an interest.

I'm glad it does. Wait for v6.0 most of whdload slaves will run.
InstallerNG doesn't work properly. I ditched that some time ago. Newest installer program from 3.9 is very good so why going third party? thanks for the feedback |

A quick feedback. Gave a quick try to "The Faery Tale Adventure" (ipf). The following message is displayed : ** JST does not support this WHDLoad slave yet (try FORCEWHD) With FORCEWHD parameter, the following message is displayed : Warning: version of WHDLoad slave is too recent. Will try to run it anyway. fmain HD loader (WHDLoad) JST Using WHDLoad emulation interface (screen changes as if the game is loaded & after 2-3 seconds returns to WB) Run-Time Error: Unsupported WHDLoad call: Patch - unsupported command Maybe try with NOCACHES set or/and MMU=NONE or MMU=LAXIST With either of theses parameters, screen turns to WB's backdrop colour (first 200 lines) & black (last 56 lines). F12 is working but need to reset. |

ok fellas, after 2 unstable versions, here's a much better version of JST.
Basically a merge between CD32load features & JST v5.0 + some bugfixes - runs whdload v16 slaves (including kickemu), ex: another world, Faery Tale Adventure... - able to emulate keyboard with CD32 joypad as CD32load does - still runs on kickstart 1.3 ATM the program still has stability issues on startup (like previous versions BTW) but still very useable. Enjoy & merry xmas (available in the zone ATM, will update my home page) |

I gave a quick try on AOS1.3 to jst6* + Universe (*latest from 27.12.2017).
What is working: - game launch from Shell & Icon ; - game can be played ; - saved game can be loaded (from an existing 'SaveDisk' file). What is not working: - QUITKEY=$32 ('x' key) is not working (was not tested in v5) ; - game progression cannot be saved (tested ~20 times). -> I faced two different issues : 1. black screen after giving a name and pressing Enter (99.9% of the try - was also not working with v5) ; 2. Once 'Save' returned to game but, when relaunched the game, the 'Saved name' was not present. What is different (not important just a comment): - At game start, before the Core logo, screen is scrambled (was not with v5) ; - During the game, when changing screens, for less than a second, some small parts of the screen seems to be of an incorrect colour and then turns normal (never noticed this with v5). After New Year, will try and give you a feedback regarding King's Quest I & Faery Tale Adventure. PS: Do you want the feedback to be posted on this thread or on a new one ? |

thanks for the test. I first focused on arcade / controller capability, but now that I'm beyond those issues (and mostly since I have fixed the random lockup bug that plagued JST since almost the start), I can have a look at other problems. Keep reporting here.
I have added a QUITKEY env. variable in the work version (plus you can use 0x32 instead of $ because it conflicts with env. variable parsing) + fixed kick 3.1. I'm zoning 6.1 beta. |

I was thinking the same, since keyboard is really not wanted in all those Raspi/Happiga & others (most consoles have standardized buttons, with 10 buttons you're good)
Mouse emulation was ported from Earok code (an addition to CD32load). I haven't tested it yes but, yes, it's in. You have to use the VM option (there's also a virtual keyboard option). There are a lot of small bugs & crashes on some whdload slaves (SWIV...). Working on it. Slightly off-topic, still stuck on the AGS "freezing images" issue: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?...GS#post1205207 Any ideas? I'd love to bring a real Amiga emulation system to keyboardless Android and Raspi. Unlike consoles, emulating a computer generally needs a keyboard. Let's prove them wrong |
