Would be nice to have the video Forcemode available for both screenmodes. Ideally 320x200 is more suitable for NTSC and 640x480 for PAL

Thanks for testing, I'll consider splitting forcemode into a menu and game part. Currently the menus will use the full vertical overscan area in NTSC, so it shouldn't get cut off, but this also depends on the scaler/display.

I found the cause.
I started the icon from the shell.

I changed the icon to a mode Workbench and now I have a requester ,
but the game only works with PAULA mode. SoundBlaster (SB128) modes crash AmigaOS.
I have to choose always PAULA modes and and everything is ok.

The game works, the music works, thanks. (My config: Blizzard 68060/50 ,128MB fast, Mediator PCI)

I see, I didn't think of this It'd be nice to figure out what causes the compatibility problem with the SB128, but the chance of me getting a Mediator or some other PCI board is pretty slim. I do have a Delfina Flipper which I can try later, also the 16-bit UAE driver I'll check.

edit: UAE : 16 bit HIFI Stereo++ worked.

Thank you BSzili... a quick test today (more thorough tomorrow) shows the music playback is really nice. Unfortunetly my audio capture doesn't really show how good it is on real monitor + stereo speakers, but you get the idea:

Death Rally Amiga x68k on A1200 pistorm32 AGA output and AHI 14bit++ stereo mode:

Ouch, I hope the audio sounded better in real life

Yes it is a lot better, the problem is that the audio is very low volume and with my shitty capture card it sounds like that- it adds a lot of noise

Just tried it and like others was getting very low audio volume, but then discovered that the default in-game volume setting for music is 50% (sorry if this was already mentioned). Turning it up to 100% fixed that, music is about normal volume now. Also, sound effects volume defaults to 75% too.

The music is really good!

I've encountered a strange new bug, though. Previously (a few versions ago) my PS4 controller was "X" for accelerate and "O" for firing weapons, now it appears that "O" is for accelerating AND firing weapons! It means my machine gun fires and run out of ammo in the first few seconds.

The AHI setting defaults to "Delfina 16 Bit Stereo++" but my AHI Prefs is set to "Paula Fast 14 Bit Stereo++ Calibrated". Could it pick it up from the WB prefs file so I don't have to change it every time?

-EDIT- Should have said, I'm running an A1200 with Vampire V2 V1200.

You can have emulated Mediator + PCI SB128 in WinUAE. (ES1370 = SB128). This also requires Voodoo 3 emulation because (real Mediator) PCI DMA to SB128 can only work from Voodoo VRAM.

Of course it could be some HW issue but at least you can confirm if it works in sort of "ideal" hardware)

Indeed, the music is a big part of the experience. I'll change the default volume to a 100% for both.

Do you mean that the fire button appears to be constantly pressed? In that case I recommend checking the lowlevel.library mode in JoyPortTest

I have to check the AHI source code before I can give a definite answer to this.

Thanks, that's a good idea. If it's some drive issue then it should also lock up in WinUAE.

Real Amiga A1200 with Trinity 68060 accelerator (with AHI 16bit audio)
Indivision mk2cr + AmigaOS 3.2.1

Music works with Paula:HiFi 14bit stereo++ and with internal AHI audio card: Musicport:16 bit stereo

tested with AHI 4.18 and AHI 6.0

GREAT JOB BSzili !!!

Okay, so far only the SB128 appears to be problematic. I just uploaded a new version where I got rid of all the 64-bit integer math, which was a leftover from the reverse engineered x86 code. Please make sure to test it throughly to make sure I didn't break anything.

Thanks so much for your great work!

I've just tried the latest .060 file.
Music works with Paula 14 bit, I haven't tried the other options.

I'm having fun using a customized joystick with an UP button.

I'm able to accelerate with it, and using fire 1 and fire 2 I can use machine gun and turbo.

The only thing I'm still missing is dropping mines.
Since I think that nobody ever breaks (when you need to decelerate you only have to stop to go forward) would it be possible to map the mines to backward?

UPDATE:
I forgot to say that the game froze (actually the entire system crashed) after race 6 or 7. I simply finished a race and I was watching the race tables when everything stopped working.

If your joystick has enough buttons you can connect one to POTY which will act as a third button to drop mines:
http://wiki.icomp.de/wiki/DE-9_Joyst...n_modification
I haven't done a lot of continous playtesting, until then save after every race.

I'll see if I can add the drop mine button... thanks for the hint...

Let me know how it works, I know at least one person (Nikos) had success with this mod. Just make sure to connect it to GND and not to VCC like you'd do for the C64.

I did it!
This is how my joystick works now:

This way the game is much more enjoyable... I've already had the satisfaction to kill some nasty mugs with my mines...

The only drawback is that I can use this joystick only for Deat Rally now... but for such a game, it is worth it.

Thanks again BSzill

PS:
I never use the brake so the backward as brake is untested...

What is this Musicport AHI soundcard like?

Could Prisma Megamix support be added to this game?
