Madlads, I got nowhere with this one. How on earth did y'all research this!?

There is a game called Sensible Train Spotting!? Of course there is.

Yeah I knew 10 of these although I must admit for 1 & 2 I knew the characters and not the exact game. Solitaire I know of course but that blown up it can be pretty much any game involving cards so I didn't even consider it.

Quite a lot of games I have never heard of in this round.

I am thinking the same! if I were forced to do my own quizzes I'd have gone mad a long time ago.

You don't need to specify the exact Crash Bandicoot or Harry Potter game, the quiz is difficult enough. And Solitaire turned out to be more of a "joker" entry as every card game was accepted.

Exclusive to an Amiga magazine cover disk, no less! So you & the people from here were actually more likely to know this one.

But let's look at the three Amiga exclusives and how this forum did compared to the rest...

Arabian Nights
all answers: 33%
EAB answers: 100%

Base Jumpers
all answers: 23%
EAB answers: 67%

Sensible Train Spotting
all answers: 7%
EAB answers: 17%

I think you can be happy with the first two, but how come only @darkwave recognised Train Spotting?

Never seen it. I only had Amiga Action and it was expensive as heck to get these magazines so I didn't even get it every month.

Probably this was on Amiga Format or Amiga Power? The latter I have never even seen overseas.

Sensi Train Spotting was on Amiga Power 53 (Sept 95)
If one of the Green panels was shown I might have got it.

Amiga Power 53 was probably the last issue of Amiga Power I bought before the local newsagent stopped stocking it. The cover disk had the little guy on the bench on it. I also remember how he used to pick up his coffee and slurp it in between levels.

We could also debate the merits of non-comercial games in the quiz!

July Quiz - Gaming Maps

Well, when was the last time you drew a map yourself in a video game? I think my last really big dungeon map was in the RPG Ishar 2 in the 90s, in my old math exercise book... after that, small stuff at most. This round is about all kinds of "maps" - from futuristic radar UIs to classic dungeon crawlers, from transparent automaps to floor plans scribbled on paper.

So, how many do you know? And bonus question, where did I take the map from the intro picture from?

Once again, I'm sure I've left out a lot of really great games because I simply didn't know them (or the titles were already in previous rounds). Leave me a comment with your favourite missing map?

Deadline is Sunday 31st of July, enter via http://www.retrogamequiz.com/

Here's the quiz, grab your compass and let's go!

Oh my god #15 is going to kill me. I have seen it. I have played that game. Probably several times. But for the life of me...

Bastard!

Daggerfall would be an iconic omission for having the shittiest 3D map system you can imagine But at the time I wouldn't know how they could have done it better. In the Unity3D version it's manageable.

#1 is a fun one. I recognized the map style but not the level name. Very cheeky.
