Hi everyone,
I have problem with Sonnet I would like to some tips from you. My situation: I tested some today ago my new 3x64MB EDO DIMMs RAM 2K Refresh. I tested 1x64, 2x64 and all together 3x64 MB RAM. Still I receive the ramlib error 80000004 after activating the powerpc.library. Once I had there all three RAMs first I saw the error PPC CPU not responding and then I received ramlib error. So, I would like to ask you how much max RAM size is now supporting 2x64 MB or also 3x64MB = 192 MB or not? All RAM slots on sonnet card is active and working for Amiga? Why I do not see all 192 MB RAM after ramlib error crash? I have CyberstormMK II 060/50 MHz + 128 MB RAM FAST + 16 MB on board + Radeon memory. So, TOTAL 128 + 16 + 232 = 376 MB can I see in WorkBench OS.3.9. And when I added 3x64 MB RAM then I see in WB 505 MB FastRAM but after inicializing the card then I receive ramlib error with error code 80000004. If I have 3x64 MB on Sonnet board then I had to see on Workbench toatl cca 568 MB Fast RAM and not 505 MB after ramlib crashing. So, where can I have the problem? Sonnet working with the Radeon card and I have the version with 256 MB RAM and I use 24 MB for gfx card and next RAM can I see in WorkBench. Maybe there is problem? If I use all 256 MB RAM for gfx card then maybe I do not see this ramlib error? What do you mean? Or working only with Voodo3, 4, 5 cards properly? User declare that working also with Radeon gfx correctly. I have use the following cards in mediator with 3x64MB RAM on sonnet card and I have there soldered 3,3 regulator LT 1085 CT 3,3V. The PPC sets up the memory. If the PPC fails, then no memory is added. Only 128 MB is supported if anything else than a voodoo 3 is used. Any memory above that is not added.
Why do you expect to see memory added I when the system crashes? Something obviously went wrong. It is not clear to me whether you get the requester which says PPC not responding every time. If so, then the PPC is not responding meaning maybe faulty card/mod. |

Going to move my new compile stuff over to this thread:
http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=88760 Bermuda Syndrome WOS is up on EAB's FTP, if you use the search just search for my name. Also new (old) version of ScummVM 0.11.1 coming hopefully. I have it working it a couple games but not ScummVM engine ones which is the majority of what that old version supports. |

You start initppc from startup-sequence? You have powerpc.library in libs: or somewhere else?

Sonnet Crash
Hi Wrangler,
you mean this install guide: https://github.com/Sakura-IT/SonnetA...allation-guide Yes, I saw this guide and I followed it but I thing I have to try it again. I see there card with DeviceName: MPC107 PCI Bridge/Memory Controller for PPC But I cannot use these commands InitPPC and GetInfo because befor this still I receive RamLib error 80000004 and then these commands do not work when I click on cancel request window. Maybe I have to reinstall it again. Last edited by DH; 17 November 2017 at 13:26. Reason: Deleted direct signature |

Sonnet Crash
No, I do not start InitPPC from Startup-Sequence.
I wanted to run IntiPPC manually from WB but when the WB loaded and SnoopDos said that powerpc.library was loaded OKAY then I see error request with RamLib Error 80000004. So, I cannot to use next steps for using commands InitPPC and GetInfo. I used this install guide: https://github.com/Sakura-IT/SonnetA...allation-guide I see that there is a card with DeviceName: MPC107 PCI Bridge/Memory Controller for PPC But I cannot use these commands InitPPC and GetInfo because befor this still I receive RamLib error 80000004 and then these commands do not work when I click on cancel request window. @Joe: you either need powerpc.library in libs: and InitPPC (early) in your startup-sequence or neither - you can't have the lib in libs: but no InitPPC for instance or you will get a crash.

Joe, make a folder in Libs: called PowerPC. Place the PowerPC.library in there. Make an assign for PowerPC.library to Libs:PowerPC
Then make a script on your desktop that calls initppc Last edited by trixster; 05 November 2017 at 16:51. |

Sonnet crescendo Ramlib Error.
Hi,
I have powerpc.library in libs. For now still investigate where can I have the problem. When I try boot without a startup-seqeuence and when I enter the following commands: Setpatch NOROMUPDATE makedir RAM:ENV assign ENV: RAM:ENV copy ENVARC:#? to ENV: ALL c:loadmondrvs Then after a few seconds I see the request with the same error: RamLib error 80000004. So, I cannot following next step for using: C:InitPPC and C:GetInfo Do you have some next tips for me? Thanks for your help. Last edited by DH; 17 November 2017 at 13:26. You installed an LT1085, are you sure you installed it correctly? Can you post pictures, one from above and one from the side? The top pin is not connected to the pad right? The top pin of the LT1085 is only connected to the ground at C21?

Sorry, my mistake. I thing that this little script executed ok, but if I run InitPPC the I see RamLib error. If I remove the sonnet card then everything working fine. If I have there sonnet card and do not have powerpc.library in libs, then everything ok. After inicialising powerpc.library I see RamLib Error.
Anyway radeon working fine without sonnet. |

Then please answer Greg's question. I revert to my previous hunch: Card/mod faulty.
do you have ppc.library in libs: ? Last edited by Hedeon; 07 November 2017 at 23:02. Reason: Added ppc.library question |

Hi,
Setpatch NOROMUPDATE makedir RAM:ENV assign ENV: RAM:ENV copy ENVARC:#? to ENV: ALL c:loadmondrvs When I remove the powerpc.library from libs and start this script without Startup-Sequence this script working for me without problem. But if I have powerpc.libary in libs then after start the command InitPPC I see after a few seconds RamLib error 80000004 request with cancel or reboot button.
