Does this patched version of scsi.amhd work any better? I removed the A3000 SCSI check from it. (Remove ! from URL after pasting into your browser's URL bar.)
Code:
https://www.media!fire.com/?6x9oddzj5a3tbi1 I just tested it to boot Mac System 7.1 from hard drive on an A2000/A2091/Kickstart 3.1 config. |

Thank you very much, Mark!!
Apparently it's ME who does something wrong, as this one didn't work, either... Maybe one/more mistakes with my WinUAE configuration and/or wrong hardfile.... I also tried to make a new, empty hardfile from scratch, but it's not even recognized by WinUAE as a proper device... What can I say? It's not my lucky day and I'm afraid I'll die without being able to see Amax 2.56 in action! ![]() Perhaps it just needs real hardware... |

Holy cow!!
This works, at last!!!!!! Mark, you are a treasure! ![]() So the other HDF I was trying to use was all crap, sadly! What a senseless waste of time... It was not my fault, I nearly went bananas trying to figure out what was wrong! It played nicely also with my previous config, so I had fine-tuned it correctly!! Many-many-many thanks, pal!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() |

So, for anyone who might be interested, here it is:
https://www.sendspace.com/file/semmna It contains everything needed to emulate an OCS A500/KS1.3/1MB chip with A590 SCSI/2MB fast. It magically loads System 7.1 (fresh installation) with LOTS of apps, utils and games through WB 1.3 and the Quartex-cracked (software only) version of A-Max 2.56... A Windoze PC with WinUAE and a mounted real SCSI partition will be needed to transfer to actual Amiga hardware, or perhaps a 020+ Amiga with Shapeshifter/Fusion/Basilisk II/A-Max IV, to do the same job! I personally did NOT test them on real hardware, as I have no facilities here... The 2 100MB HFS hardfiles are identical, the only difference is in the OS contained, one has System 6.0.8 and other 7.1!! They can be directly attached to Mini VMac as well, and that's the way I did the most of the software transfers... ![]() Enjoy, and many thanks again to all the people who helped so far! ![]() |

You're welcome!
It wouldn't be THAT fun if it was easier... ![]() The difficulty factor and the intriguing challenges that occur due to limitations when one uses real old gear, is a very important part of the thing that's called retro-entertainment. If we all preferred the easy way, we would permanently get stuck to emulators and never use real machines! Well, I spent all (litterally) the last weekend collecting and transferring all the Mac software contained in the 2 HFS hardfiles, but I really enjoyed it! I hope you'll like the result, too! Last but not least, one could transfer them to real disks and use them with REAL Mac Plus (instead of Amiga/A-Max), they are freshly installed and full with tons of software so a real Mac would be very much happy with them, too... ![]() |

So what is the main difference between IC5 revision G and H?
Is it possible to run A-MAX IV in colour on Z2 card with IC5 in revision G? Is the content of revision H GAL available so I can upgrade card myself? |

Re-uploaded my A-Max stuff (previous link was long gone), ready for use with emulator or on a REAL A500+A590, in case someone would like to try it...
