there is too much stuff for any one person to take care of.

a couple of people in collaboration might be a good start.

A suggestion is to make a post for all asking them to delete what is irellevant.
upload a text file with info of the rest.. what is it, where they think it should go. Wait some time (a month?) before sorting through the stuff, giving people a chance to react, and/or send each user a PM.
basically what DamienD has ind mind as well.

Files should be sorted through TOSEC database to remove doublets, and leave missings for Mai and crashdisk (and myself for that matter).

and.. if needed I volunteer to be one of those, as long as I'm not alone about it.

make note that with large amounts of data being shiftet around, people who have a "local mirror", will download quite a lot, putting a strain on the bandwidth.

You can delete my folder (Arnie) Damien. I can't access it any more and I want to create a new one.

You have some files in there my friend; I don't just want to delete it:

Why don't I do the following:

... Download both files to my computer.
... Delete your directory so that you can create a new one.
... Once you've done the above I'll re-upload both files.

Does that sound cool?

Heya Arnie,

Ok, I've download both files from your directory and then deleted your directory.

Go ahead and re-create your directory

Heya tomse,

You're probably right; I still haven't even looked under each user's directory as yet but will start soon.

The more help the merrier

Turran already did something similar but had no real response

Will be making a directory / file listing of each user's directory, analyse where I think things will go, then ask for the user's input. People will definitely be given loads of opportunity in this process before I even start moving / deleting stuff

Yes; any disk based files will be run through all ClrMAMEPro dats. If they already exist in the latest TOSEC sets then there's no point in keeping them

Yes we can make a note of any major data changes.

@Turran; when we start this process do you think it's worth turning off replication until everything is complete? I know this could be months but you take backups anyway; it's just that DannyBoy's ftp wouldn't be an exact replica...

Hm, good question. I don't see a reason to do that really. Better to let it sync little at a time.

In all seriousness though, syncing to DannyBoy is quick so I doubt there will be any issues.

Plus, we have slightly planned for a few changes for me and the mirror soon, concerning anonymous users etc. I'm just dealing with other stuff at the moment so I'm a bit busy elsewhere =)

@Damien

You can either delete those files or find a home for them on the server.

If you have something I can upload to, I can push a complete copy of the Commodore_Amiga tree up to you

is the backup of The Zone still working?
just asking because i cannot find "Intelligent.Music-M_v1.1a-ADF.Files.zip"
already ~20 days in the zone.
search only lists two other version of that application, when searching for "Intelligent Music" (w/o quotes).

nono, the Zone itself is ok, but on the ftp server, there is a backup of the zone,
so that files from zone are not lost after 60 days.
the backup of the zone to the ftp was done always after a couple of days - 20+ days seems too long.
so I think the backup script does not work atm.

eab ftp: /TheZone/files/ and search

The zone backup is a bit of a hit and miss right now. It does not always work automatically for some reason and I have to kick it manually. No clue why yet and I've not had time to look at it yet.

I just ran it manually.

Hey man, I just tried to add an account because I wanted to upload something, but the server isn't taking my password. What have I done wrong?
