Better not implement anything just yet.

I am not anymore so sure about interleaved format. Having all headers at the end of file would be more optimal and simpler for imager programs to handle.

Imager programs can store headers in RAM (headers only take about 30k) while imaging and creating normal ADF image. At the end of imaging, program can check if header storage in RAM is non-zero, if it is: append headers at the end. If headers are all zero (normal case): Stop. Result is normal ADF.

This should also prevent creation of pointless header images.

I'll need to think about this more..

I would go with all headers at the end.

Just to make sure if I wasn't clear enough already: Please, DO NOT create header adf images unless source disk had at least one non-zero sector header (=some very special case disk). It is totally pointless to create all-zero header ADF. It is functionally exact same as normal ADF.

I have an issue. I want to unpack an ADF to AD0: so I copied all the files from included ADF_Device_v1.3 drawer to their target drawers in in my system partition and rebooted my Ami.

Now when I load an ADF file to GoADF, I click "mount" under AD0: and it says

Drive AD0:
Drive Status: mounted
Disk status: inserted
etc.

And now when I click "Image to disk", I can still choose only DF0:, there is no other drive available. What do I do wrong?

EDIT: ah, forget it, i am just stupid.

Copying files from the ADF_Device_v1.3 drawer was unnecessary, GoADF looks for these files right there, not in the system drawers.

As for the "Image to disk" option - it requires a physical disk drive, so df0-df3 is correct

AD0-AD3 are for image mounting only.

Appreciation for not calling ADF(/Z) a ROM. I see that on some Sites and YouTube videos, and it's very odd. Floppies were never called a ROM (Read Only Memory).

Have downloaded and installed, going to test on my CD32 shortly, it appears to work with my normal CF card via winuae , if it also works on the CD32 itself it will b most helpful, and i will definately register it works, the ability to use ADF files on my CD32 would be a godsend so to speak

Fingers crossed

EDIT: Registered - Works a treat

This is actually a great program and the last two updates fixed a few issues and added more features that made it even more useful.
It is worth every penny!

AC/DC Hacker, or should I say OCD Hacker... you really need to stop posting about grammatical / case-sensitive / spelling errors and files being called ROMs in posts across numerous threads... just let it go man.

We are not in school anymore; I know it bothers you but just deal with it please instead of replying about it all the time. It's getting quite boring now.

Feature request.

Make a blank ADF disk file with option to choose FFS version.
