Been wondering how this will work together with a Vampire or other accelerator cards installed, is there a risk for contact between them or is it low enough to avoid that?

Won't work with a Vampire.
AFAIK, ROM socket is disabled when the vampire is installed. |

The vampire has a ROM on the card. It does not and won't use any ROM on the motherboard or any kind of ROM selector like the Romulator.

Am I to assume AOTL is a side business due to the infrequent updates?

Technically I would think the Vampire could act as a ROM switcher itself. But then again I'd think the Gold Core is what is basically the ROM, so there is that....

Vampire aside. What about other accelerators that plug into the cpu socket?

If you have a Vampire installed, the only time the Romulator would work is if you disable the Vampire by erasing it's FPGA. Then whatever Kickstart ROM you have slotted on the motherboard would then be used. I sometimes do this if I need to test something. Otherwise the Vampire uses it's own Kickstart or whatever you want to maprom.

My guess is that as soon as they are available they will show up here: http://amigaonthelake.com/kipper2k/
I am in no way associated with any of the parties involved, so don't take that as gospel. |

Does AotL have some serious issues maybe?
Anyone ordered from them recently? |

I ordered a few bits from them in May without issue. But previous to that I had ordered an A1200 case which became long overdue. I read they had shipped all preorders but nothing had arrived. I tried contacting them several times via the site and email but no reply, until I tried on Facebook. They apologized and sent one which I received about a week later.

In a bizarre way, this is becoming running gag. At least for me. Things are not available or those available will not be sold.
And the headline on their webpages states ‘we deliver’ and ‘2019 - the year of growth [...]’. I wonder how they want to grow if they don’t sell anything. Would be funny if it wasn’t sad. Or maybe it is. I don’t know. |

It just occurred to me that my Kipper2K keyboard that I ordered just over a year ago from AOTL (due christmas 2018) is still waiting fulfilment. It seems over promising and under delivering is the norm. Communication is lacking, and that is what I find is most disturbing.

I was wrong; they did not update Kipper's product page. The actual link is http://amigaonthelake.com/romulator-...miga-500-2000/
Now the wait is on for the 600 version. |
