Tried to give it a go a few hours ago and just did some retarded shit.
I only made it as far as 26, but i would imagine if you have a perfect run you would have maybe 10 lives to spare (i have had as many as 8) then you just pick a level that has lots of diamonds and use up all those surplus lives, ive heard that the final level has lots of diamonds.... Close?

btw, Great Score!!

Thanks guys.

Ya, my run was perfect to an extent. I made it there with 8 lives (9 total) and milked the last level. I averaged 19-20k per life, but botched twice on two runs, netting roughly 10k. Projected score would have been 560,000.

I also did the levels pretty quickly. Off the top of my head my normal times were as follows:

level 1 finished in 48-50 seconds
level 2 finished in 48-50 seconds
level 3 finished in 28-29
level 4 finished in 40-44
level 5 dont recall
level 6 32-36
level 7 32-34
level 8 i should have 81,000-83,000
etc etc

I also made an aggressive effort to pick up all drops. Including slow and reverse.
so if your times are under those, that thousands of points lost on level time alone.

2, 47
3, 35 (you missed a couple hundred points here
4, 42
5, 42-43

For me
1- 48s
2- 48s
3- 37s
After i can't remember, it varies according to the levels; i'm focused on diamonds

My strategy was to keep all my lives until level 27, then lose all these lives by the latest micro-meteor. Then, complete the lvl 28, 29 and 30 with my last life
Obviously it was a poor strategy and i think the mono mode diagonal flick stick was not the best control.

The dual stick is finally the best way and especially in the hands of John4p

Thanks to you both - and special thanks to rexsu for leading me to the idea of using two sticks!

Congrats to xpect for beating our shooter-maniac in the ultimate PD-shoot'em up and thus taking the lead in the league.

If you still want to see it, sure. I'm not sure how well i'll do. Played this game way too much and with being a perfectionist could make it a long-haul.

Man i need to start finishing my great runs in games instead of ending them in either a good or very good status due to botches. Snubbed twice! (:

Alright bud. I apologize for botching level 15/19 8 times. I had a few things going that were chugging winuae at times and the ledges were "slippery" feeling that and i botched hardcore the first go.

I think i got 473k on this run, but anyhow you get to see what i do on each level and how to milk the last level.

Ha, thanks man. As i said those deaths bring out the perfectionist (reckless) in me which leads to aggressive play to make up for death/ lost time. Glad you liked it (:

Cheers for that. You do get stuck right in. The way you handle level 21, and a lot of close close moments.

After watching the video I can tell things look a bit closer than they actually are. The video is somewhat choppy in ways. I guess the 50fps but that situation in 21 wasnt actually that close. I never thought I'm going to eat it. I thought, play precise so you do not eat it. That and not having a fully powered spread makes it interesting.
