I genuinely laughed out loud at this But it's true, there's nobody getting rich in Amigaland (except, perhaps some lawyers but that's for another thread/day...)
@OP Supply and demand dictates what price items are worth. A pristine 1982 Ford Fiesta XR2 is priced at £14,500, whereas a much newer equivalent 2006 Fiesta ST is priced at £2,000. Why is that? They're both vaguely equivalent. It's because some things get more desirable as they become retro and collectible, and with a finite and slowly reducing total number of examples in circulation, the price is going to be higher than the vague modern equivalent. But that's good news for you though. It means that, while the old and increasingly in demand hardware is continuing to increase in price out of your reach, the modern equivalents are getting cheaper, and will give you something of a similar experience. Go to your local recycling centre and you should be able to find a PC that has been disposed of which is easily capable of running WinUAE faster than any Amiga accelerator ever made. It will probably cost you nothing other than the effort of going looking, and you can experience all the joy of using Amiga OS on a machine that's many times faster than an 060, and with a graphics card faster than anything an Amiga has ever seen too. It's a setup that's much better suited to you. |

I think this guy is doing the very thing he’s ranting about. Screaming blue murder until he gets a good deal then flogs it on as a price gouger.
I very rarely say this but this guy should be banned perm. |

I am a pensioner. My incomes smaller, than the minimum wage. I may increase my income by the retro trading only. I will not starve to death because Europe exploits Hungary. The exploitation is the essence of the EU. Many poor countries (East and South Europe) serve the few rich countries (West and North Europe). The many retro users tolerate high profits of many dealers. They are rich already! I want to do business because of the living! Why problem that I want to do business for the profit???

The problem is the way you bully. Not that you make a profit . But given that you bully people because their prices are high and then try to make their profit by charging the same or or more... that’s unconscionable.

As has been pointed out, you're in the wrong business. Get a different job. Buy and sell cars instead. And look at your local economy before comparing wages or pensions to those in a different nation. The state pension in the UK wouldn't even cover my rent, let alone buy me food, so at the end of the day it's not as different as you might think.

Can't beat the MK3 cortina though. In red. As for the rest of what you said, I totally agree - sadly I think you're wasting your time. As always, John (one day i'll post a different name and you'll all be sh&*"ing yourselves). EDIT: (no need for a new reply) Quote:

Always had a soft spot for the sporty Fiestas, and my dad did have a number of Cortinas all the way through until it became the Sierra. Nowadays though I tend towards the Germans. Currently driving an Octavia vRS - lovely car to drive for me and lots of space in the boot for baby equipment.

As many of you will know... i've had a fair few rows with a few of you over the years. I've never been moved to make a video about any of it .... until now.
I plan to make a video showing up amiga2000 for what he is.. a con artist. Give a sob story, abuse or whatever it takes to get you to part with your amiga hardware for rock bottom prices and then flogs it on for as much as he can get. People need to be warned about this guy. |

Bees are really the way to go. I can't wait till I'm retired then just get to sit on the back porch listening to the happy hum of Amigas in the house and the hives outside. Making my own Baklava and renting the Bees out to farmers to pollinate, selling organic honey that's the life. Then a relaxing evening soaking in ointment from all the stings.
