Great news, the sooner the better
Also, probably stupid question, but couldn't the game detect the cpu and turn on/off caches accordingly? |

On a CD32 + TF030 accelerator with Tin Toy or Wiz (big blitted software sprites + tiles) at 50FPS, the slowdown presents as less impactful with caches on, but if you turn them off it makes things even worse regards Wiz at 50FPS. If you bring 60FPS/NTSC into the mix, then the problem increases somewhat further of course. I think I may, after testing further here, assume caches on, lock the frame rate to 25/30FPS and offer an in-game option key 'C' to turn the caches off perhaps. Then the player with an accelerated Amiga can at least choose. You don't really notice at 25fps as compared to 50fps though, so for CyberPunks 2 I may not bother with that option and just leave the caches off like the original CyberPunks did. With 4 players but 2 or 3 of them AI, I can limit and control certain factors like monster damage, pickups and bonus allocation and containing gameplay to the screen area. I also questioned myself regards the whole concept of multiplayer given most people will probably play it alone with the other 3 players being AI. I think they had similar problems with the Chaos Engine from what I recall. Last edited by AmigaDweeb; 01 February 2023 at 14:22. |

Cheers I have since updated that screen a little further as the PAL 50HZ OR NTSC 60HZ option should actually read PAL 25HZ OR NTSC 30HZ in reality for CyberPunks 2.

Cheers, this is with cheat on for test but most of it is working now. Fine tuning and stuff to come yet. The music needs a bit more work later. Next up is all the aliens for all the levels, bosses, the dropship and 2-player mode. It will then go into alpha test and then on from there to beta and eventual release when ready
