Farnell (UK) sells Beagleboard at 118 GBP, but personally I would like a VGA output (there is one VGA module but this will add more to the final cost).

Yeah I have to admit the iMica is pretty cool. Not bad price point at 199, and I like the catweasel integration that they've been working on. I hope they keep up on the 68k emulation.
I think if all my Amiga's were to go the way of the dodo, Id consider either the iMica or a Minimig. |

Had to convince myself my mortgage & savings plan was more important than a new A1200 as well. The keyboard will give a very clean but yellowed keyboard A1200 of mine the feel of a new one. Maybe. Probably not!! |

Great video Zetr0, looking forward to seeing the next ones you have
I've seen some videos of the X1000 unveiling on Youtube too, I must say it was rather underwhelming. Didn't they even think to get a PA system? The speech from Trevor seemed rambly and unstructured also. The hardware looks nice though I think the iMica looks very nice! A small form like that with a cut down version of the X1000 innards would be a good move. I'm hoping that at some point (maybe next year) the X500 is announced and is either a small case and/or laptop based on the X1000 |

Lack of a PA was a big oversight.
I personally thought, having looked at the videos on youtube, both of the guys did as good a job presenting as they could. Very political in their answers, neither yes or no most of the time but all things considered pretty decent. I think the EAB response has been far more restrained that amiga.org. Don't know that forum but I get the feeling it's a critical bitchy place to reside. Quote:

Hi All,
I travelled up to the VCF on Sunday, I had a great day and had no idea there was still such a thriving Amiga community, it was great to see so much enthusiasm in the Amiga Tent. I took a few pictures and posted them on my Blog and I regret not taking a lot more. Anyway I'm clearly well out of the loop as far as what's going on with Amiga today so you'll have to excuse my general ignorance but I intend to do a lot of catching up. With the iMica and the x1000 it looks as though I've picked a good time. Charlie BTW Is there anyone on here that was on Compunet? |
