The replacement A1200 keyboard I bought for £19 (not £20 ) will do the job of sprucing up one of my A1200s just nicely.

I agree totally with that. Top bloke who was talking about the BeagleBoard. Liked the look of the iMica but then just realised I have absolutely no use for it!

Now to buy an A3010 Archimedes

Farnell (UK) sells Beagleboard at 118 GBP, but personally I would like a VGA output (there is one VGA module but this will add more to the final cost).

Yeah I have to admit the iMica is pretty cool. Not bad price point at 199, and I like the catweasel integration that they've been working on. I hope they keep up on the 68k emulation.

I think if all my Amiga's were to go the way of the dodo, Id consider either the iMica or a Minimig.

haha I never doubted the genuine nature of the mistake to be fair I shouldn't have been so tight!

Had to convince myself my mortgage & savings plan was more important than a new A1200 as well. The keyboard will give a very clean but yellowed keyboard A1200 of mine the feel of a new one. Maybe. Probably not!!

Great video Zetr0, looking forward to seeing the next ones you have

I've seen some videos of the X1000 unveiling on Youtube too, I must say it was rather underwhelming. Didn't they even think to get a PA system? The speech from Trevor seemed rambly and unstructured also. The hardware looks nice though

I think the iMica looks very nice! A small form like that with a cut down version of the X1000 innards would be a good move. I'm hoping that at some point (maybe next year) the X500 is announced and is either a small case and/or laptop based on the X1000

I spoke to Trevor and the reason its was all dysfunctional is simply because its wasn't ment to be a speach, just a demonstration... hence the no-pa-system - infact I dont think he new anything about the BBC being there either lol.

He's a nice chap, I just hope he doens't get ripped. =/

Ah I see, well he had a big crowd anyway, enough to warrant a speech with a bloody big PA! or it seemed that way from the vids i've seen, lots of interest there, maybe he didn't expect such attention, especially from the BBC, and then became overwhelmed! Ah I feel bad now for having a go, Poor guy, sorry Trevor!

Lack of a PA was a big oversight.

I personally thought, having looked at the videos on youtube, both of the guys did as good a job presenting as they could. Very political in their answers, neither yes or no most of the time but all things considered pretty decent.

I think the EAB response has been far more restrained that amiga.org. Don't know that forum but I get the feeling it's a critical bitchy place to reside.

Hi All,

I travelled up to the VCF on Sunday, I had a great day and had no idea there was still such a thriving Amiga community, it was great to see so much enthusiasm in the Amiga Tent.

I took a few pictures and posted them on my Blog and I regret not taking a lot more.

Anyway I'm clearly well out of the loop as far as what's going on with Amiga today so you'll have to excuse my general ignorance but I intend to do a lot of catching up.

With the iMica and the x1000 it looks as though I've picked a good time.

Charlie

BTW Is there anyone on here that was on Compunet?
