I hate almost all games based on movies. Ocean was responsible for most of them on Amiga.

Yes, Ocean was responsible for many licenses, but some based-movies games were very good.

Ironic then that the Amiga version was the closest to the arcade version over the console versions.

I still like graphics and sounds, only gameplay may not be the best. Luxor was commercial release from Software Horizons.

Rebellion software, but the post Amiga rebellion. They sure make some exquisite stinkers and then occasionally a good game. There is no middle ground with these guys.

I'll agree with what Galahad said many moons ago on the start of this thread:
Tiertex. What I find really amazing is that Tiertex managed to stay alive for many years, and at least a couple of years ago was still active making cell phone games. They never made one single decent for any system, and their amiga games are really, really, really awful. All Capcom ports on Amiga were really bad except the ones produced by Elite, but from all the US Gold ports, Tiertex surely were the guys who made the worse job, by far. Their games are crap even for Atari ST standards, let alone Amiga standards. Pit Fighter was awful even on arcade, and I'll agree with Galahad again: The Amiga version is the closest to the arcade one. The controls could been better even using just 1 button (The arcade game uses 3), but compare it to the Mega-Drive or SNES version (I won't even mention 8 bits versions), and you see the Amiga Version has, by far, the best graphics, the best music, the best SFX and it's the one that plays more close to the arcade game. Which plays like shit anyway. Also, Teque made Brutal Sports Football, which is frigging awesome. |
