Requiring an Amiga doesn't make much sense, since EMU68 already provides CPU and graphics...
You have a point there, but I wonder if that would be possible even with AmigaOS alone

I think you would need a version of AmigaOS that doesn't depend on the custom chips, like the OS used for f.ex. the Macrosystem Casablanca.

That still required cia's iirc.

What about DraCo or Amithlon?

I think Amithlon partially emulated the cia for timings, perhaps DraCo did the same.

Have you made any progress on trying to boot AROS with EMU68 from standalone RPi 3/4 ?

Emu68 beta 2.1 release is now online! Many thanks to @paraj for help on bug hunting and simple yet brilliant idea for improving compatibility with software using busy loops for delays

Hi all,
Could Emu68 ever work on the zz9000's arm module?

Unlikely. It's a different generation ARM. Plus it's not connected to the CPU slot

Emu68 is for 64-bit ARM only. ARM8 or better would be the minimum. (Mainly because the AArch64 instruction set has 2× as many general purpose registers.)

Excellent, beta 2.1 fixes Black Crypt on my A500 pistorm! It was unplayable before due to being extremely laggy/slow once the game started.

From the Facebook PiStorm group this week there was a post where they’ve been testing WHDLoad titles on PiStorm-fitted Amigas, out of 1000 tested they only found issues with with around 20 titles.

Very nice, great work!

I see the ‘code in chip memory too fast’ fix can be controlled with emucontrol.
Perhaps you should talk to wepl about a feature for whdload to modify emucontrol settings per slave? (I suppose modifying other settings can be useful for some games/demos as well.)

I’m sure the whd game distributions would be updated to match by the community.

Bump'n Burn? No, that does not work. The road is constantly flashing green
Exile? No. While playing, graphics start to degrade, collision goes crazy etc.
Full Contact? Full of graphics glitches e.g. in attract mode; even worse for PR
-> Correction: the 1991 release works fine now in rc1, but the original 1990 version still has all corrupted graphics
Jim Power? Seriously? Still completely unplayable due to speed issues
Jurassic Park? Hard crash when trying to enter the game
Mortal Kombat 1? Player sprites glitch heavily (which is very common in many games due to missing or too-low blitter delays)

For some games that do work, important infos are missing. Yo!Joe! e.g. needs NoCache and NoAutoVec, otherwise it crashes randomly when the level starts.

I could go on and on, but that list is a bad joke. Yes, I know that is a bit offensive, but it is beyond me why people don't do real testing and actually playing the games instead of just spending 30 seconds on them. Issue with this list: people looking for info about a game get wrong info, and - more important - compatibility of Emu68 will be considered higher than it actually is currently. This will result in bugs not being seen and fixed, which is bad for all users of Emu68.

I did test 135 games so far over the last 4 weeks, playing each game sometimes for hours. 15 games are not working at all; from the remaining 120 games, 5 or 6 are playable but with issues (sfx/music mostly). So in my book, compatibility is currently about 84% - which is good, but not great.

Dude, they did. Check out TomCat's stream and previous videos. There's hours of footage of gameplay. Stuff like Jim Power is perfect with the right settings.

Are you running a PS or PS32Lite? That list is for PS32Lite.

Edit: I should point out that the Emu68+Firmware is not yet publicly available with all the fixes. You need to visit the Discord channel to grab it and test with.

What is a bad joke is you and your attitude. If you would learn to read or maybe just took a bit of time to actually check things before you start offending people that spent hours on testing the games and making sure they run ok, then you would see on the top of the page what pistorm is used for which tester. Actually all of the testers use pistorm32 on A1200 currently - none with the classic pistorm users came forward so far to do any of the testing.
Even so, the classic pistorm still needs to get some cruical fixes for SMC and IRQ timing, I am sure that will come soon too.
