Hmmm ???

I'm not sure if this new sort of user classification button is really something that we need ?

I just want to be what I always was, an EAB user, and nothing better, and nothing worse. Competition may happen in our discussions when we try to find the best solution to solve a problem, but we should try to come together here on the same level without degrading or upgrading others. This is only what I think about these new buttons, but if most of the users like this sign of distinction, I would say I can live with it ...
... or without it....

I agree with it. A badge that shows that somebody supports EAB isn't that bad, but I think this might be a bit too much... I can see the motivational aspect, but I also can think of it as a form of segregation (at least it might have that undertone).

I don't want to complain about RCK's intention to introduce these supporter and donater buttons here, since I believe that he just wanted to say "Thank You" to the sponsors, and that's ok. But his acknowledgement per PM was all I expected.

As long as people don't use dirty tricks (intentional reverse order. I'll switch back to normal in one day)

It doesn't fuss me at all. If there's even a bit of worry from people that it causes segregation it should be turned off I guess.

Well, I would like to do something special to thanks member who have made the effort to use the donate system in the last 30 days.
I think this little badge was smarter than a permanent progress bar on the top of EAB with "monthly goal XXX €" like suggested.
ps: I change the badge color to green to make it less visible

@lilaurl: because of you, I now have to introduce a rule to ban users who try to cheat their Supporter status with their avatar

vB is still much of a mystery to me, but yes, that sounds reasonable.

Thanks, DH.

I first created a daily task to update the donator status, but I just changed it to a hourly one

Ok, Ok I am back to a nice and unconspicuous avatar

Too bad those vbulletin coders seem to have taken measures to prevent users from entering invisible characters as their Custom User Title, otherwise it would have looked even better (Will be gone tomorrow, just like the previous one )

Quote:
Your donation will be checked
Quote:
Your donation has been confirmed
And my name is at the top of the donations list.

Maybe RCK should just manually run the task to see if it's working correctly, it may have failed to update to hourly for some unknown reason.

EDIT: Maybe Global Moderators are exempt from earning the Award Star
