I never used more than MED back in the day. And i no longer have any of the original files, just some recordings of them. I used all the samples i could find in those days from Amiga video games, applications and other MODs.
Nothing special but I had fun and I think some of these are fun to listen to. https://www.dropbox.com/s/7mvo7wfr43...raMEDs.7z?dl=0 |

Wow! That Warhawk cover was great
I just wish I could get my tracker working! Its those Amiga sounds that I've missed all these years. I used to spend hours composing hit and miss compositions and learned a lot in the process about how music can be put together,

Simon The Sorcerer Cover Song.
[ Show youtube player ] @mik3d3nch. You should use WinUAE and download pro-tracker or Octamed. Emulation is now so accurate and responsive that you forget your using emulated hardware, with the added bonus of choosing lots of RAM. |

LORDOFCHAOS - I am using WinUAE and SoundFX - the original 88 version - still having to laboriously recreate my own docs as I have forgotten so much and either my memory is at fault (quite possible) or its not doing what it used to. I remember these weird letter and number combos that ran in one part of the individual columns (hex?) and back then I didnt know about hex so I changed them by trying different combinations at random and sometimes got rewarded with some really odd sounds. Theres a button called Effects shows as 136 in the window but it wont allow me to change them to the other selections and retyping over the 136 does nothing to alter the sound. Anyway I just got hold of DeLuxe Music so with any luck I'll eventually get something out of one of them.

Cor! That's brilliant did you just copy this from a game or did you construct it yourself? I liked it so much I'm adding it to my play list, its very atmospheric and at the same time it shows me how to construct something in a similar vein with a bass background theme and a sort of scales repetition as a treble lead.

Its timing that buggers me every time! I can play the keyboard as the channel loops but when it comes to adding more voices it sounds awful because the original 'freehand' track intervals aren't always quite on the money.
Try entering a pattern one note at a time to keep the intervals accurate and the result never sounds as good as doing it freehand would apart from the timing. How can I explain this? I play harmonica and if with a band and I miss judge where they are going I can almost always fudge it and nobody notices, just keep going and correct as you go, no problem. Oh well, there's no real answer to this except to just keep practicing. |

Timing is given by the tracks and at what speed/tempo it is played. Some effect commands can influence timing too. Just add notes in edit mode and not in record mode. Advantage of tracker programs is that you can see the track/pattern and hence also the timing.

Cool. That's how I learnt, watching other peoples modules and taking note, nothing wrong with some reverse engineering too for good practice. |

Anybody made the switch to Renoise? It's like a spiritual successor to Octamed and Pro Tracker combined, but on steroids.
Had another little session on it, this time paying homage to the Young Ones. [ Show youtube player ] |

@no9. That's a really nice track, very slick and catchy.
Kind of wish I made more effort to use ProTracker back in the day, got sucked into Octamed, I think both have their own unique quirks, despite being very similar.. Trackers are the best. |

Is there still someone there makes mod or tunes with Protracker these days?!
Well most of my Amiga tunes are not published at all, last I made was in 2000 but did found and old data CD with some of my old .MOD tunes, the funnies was thoese with my voice yeah I know I cannot sign at all, not enough with that my knowledge to notes is nothing. I did most of tunes that way. Some calculation, or random pushed Amiga keyboard in a tracker program, begin with Soundtracker2.2 doc version if I remember right,m last used was Protracker 3.62 or something like that. I begin on the c64 and thoese are not publish either, other than the wellknown Echoing tune from Banana / The Elektronic Knight since he also made tunes on C64. To Skope that write about all his tune he has a module called "I have a Dream" funny that is what I have found a song from myself called Dream. Where I sing if you call that sing "I have a dream". So I must hear that title from Skope. I have for a few days added some new patterns to my old Dream.mod and changes some notes (old to match better the song) that should still be in .mod format used Skaletracker on PC. But should still be playable on protracker on amiga. Just to get an idea how weak it´s. The bad lyrics for my Dream mod. is: "I have a dream. Have you a dream. I have my dream. My dream in Heaven." Added in extended version. "used my old samples" I have a dream (dream) My dream in heaven (dream) The (dream) comes but not so often, more like an extra effect did not work as I wanted, but works. If any wants them just tell me where to put my old modules. Including my not finished tunes. |

@TTD, just drop any tracked material you wish on https://amp.dascene.net/upload/
I'll make sure to store them If you're known there, please point me the entry. If not, it would be useful to provide me with some minimum information (name/group(s)/etc.) Cheers Sylvain |
