Another great update. As far as memory goes, I’m sure everyone today has more than 1 MB or RAM. Doesn’t that just cost a few pennies now?

exactly, I would not bother with 1MB requirement.

Thanks guys and gals

Regarding the 1 MB. We're talking about 1 MB Chip plus at least 4 MB Fast which in total gives us a minimum of 5 MB. The latter indeed is relatively easy to get today but to expand the Chip RAM in an A500 (not plus) and most of the A2000 presents a challenge and is expensive. So it's a reaching hand to the owners of those machines. Of course, as a programmer I'd like to know it from the beginning and do not have to deal with "1 meg Chip" version if everybody would play on 2 MB. That knowledge would be a luxury

Looking nice this game I can beta test if you like. I have A1200, Blizzard IV 030. Why not talk with Mike and Corey about the pixel work?

Kevin is also fantastic.

Regarding the sooner / later release - wouldnt you plan to release a demo, that can be buggy?

For sure having a new game for Christmas would be cool BUT as long as its bugs doesn't kill the gaming experience

As the coder you are the one knowing if releasing is doable or not.
Maybe ask for help here. Personaly I cannot help (too busy for the moment) but I am sure some may have the time to give a hand.

You keep suggesting this.

Do you really think these A Class pixel artists have time to devote to another project; and for free?

From what I've read; all are absolutely snowed under with commercial games

Personally I don't mind waiting a few months, if that's what's needed to perfect your game. I'm actually happy to hear that there is a tangible release date at all.

But Plan A, to publish and be damned, ie iron bugs later, is also fine. I'm sure people would understand, as long as it was clearly explained that the game is not 100% finished and there will be future updates. Sort of Early Acces, or perhaps Nearly Finalized Access, in this case

Also happy to help with beta testing, if need be. I have A500 with ACA500+, and this kind of hybrid, non-arcade gameplay is my favourite (which is why I'm really pleased with the latest update, even though losing a pixel artist must've been a bit of a pain).

@Damien. Nobody said this job is for free. All artists are being or will be rewarded. And for the record Mike already did some work for AQUAYBSS.

Sorry, no demo is planned. I know many players would like to try the game before they buy it but, honestly, it's too much work so it won't happen. But it's not as bad as it may sound. It's more about balancing some world's elements. This kind of games are always worked out with the community after their release. As an example we have a very great PC titles. Most people do not complain. Amiga community, on the other hand, is very small so every voice is being heard. You know what I mean

@dreadnought. Very nice approach! Keep up the good spirit

I feel very excited that the actual release date for this one is approaching!

Personally, I am ok either way, maybe I would prefer the December scenario and offer some help with the bug-smashing myself!

No one said for free. Mike have said several times to not hessistate to contact him regarding Amiga projects. As you might know he is already doing classic Amiga game for rerelease where he polished the GFX. Some times it is great to have Corey and Mike just to look at your stuff and give pro. insight of what could be changed or done better. It could just be the colours that are little wrong. Mike have given many examples of wrong colour use in classic Amiga games etc.

Kevin is also very nice, talented and helpful.

Interesting- what genre is it? Cruise for a corpse style or? Some screenshots would be nice or is there a secret game play element you are trying to keep unspoiled for us?

@Adrian Browne

Please click on the » Previous minilog entries « link on bottom of the page. It will take you to a subpage where you can find some screenshots (taken before some changes) and more information about the game.

I believe it is something different I have seen some of the graphics and although it looks very good, the main advantage would be the gameplay itself.

And I'd love to buy this game for Xmas, if possible
