I just checked the GitHub page - I knew there was already something in there regarding this. So, yeah, you already have the three button click to save the speed but of course as soon as you accidentally scroll again the speed changes so yes, I think just extend the existing behaviour such that when you save you also lock, then an additional 3 button click essentially loads the settings for modification (and unlocks).
Hope that made sense. I'm basically just agreeing I think |

I would recommend holding down the three mouse buttons for 3 to 5 seconds to unlock the wheels speed control and then do the same again to lock otherwise it might be annoying everytime you accidentally press the three mouse buttons together.

Have to think about the "triggering" strategy. Messages from mouse come unsolicited when an event has to be notified to the host. There is not a periodical polling of mousebutton status from the board, so I can't simply "count the number of times I saw all three button pressed". I am not saying it is difficult to implement, but I am concerned about minimizing the computational effort spent in activities which can impact on the responsiveness of the board, which is the most important requirement users are asking. Damn .... I was hoping to be safe from your upgrade requests by masquerading myself behind the easy excuse against MartinW: "I'm sorry, but once you have gone BRexit I can't send you any more software goods, since you're out of EU market ... , but to wiz12 who added his comment this excuse does not apply (wouldn't Ireland consider "IRexit" also ?), and moreover you UK people are continuously postdating your leave !!! |

Personally my upgrade requests will be few. I have mice that work beautifully now with my two adapters (I bought a couple of cheap Logitech mice) and that's that so I don't really need updates. Just the speed thing can be a little annoying. It's really not the end of the world however. Priority is to ensure that general usage is not impacted.

Maybe an option to disable the wheel might be a simpler idea?

I was just kidding mates; I consider both of you entitled to ask me any crazy needs you'd ever imagine. You know why I have seriously took note of this your request. It makes sense and some other have asked, so I will put it on track soon (can't tell you a forecast because at the moment I am focused on a couple of new ideas, but it will be quite soon). |

Released v1.8.9 final; besides other minor things, changed mousewheel behaviour according to request.
Enjoy ! |

For those interested, thanks to user GothDevil (from Amigaimpact.org) we now have a 3D-printable shellbox for HID2AMI (stl/step files free to download !)
Have a look here: https://github.com/EmberHeavyIndustr...rce-shell-case |

Just to inform anyone could be interested that I will receive soon the new boards from the 2nd production lot.
At the moment, out of reservations, there still be 8 boards available. I don't have a forecast for a possible 3rd production batch, at the moment. Thanks ! |

I would kindly ask you to post me a reservation request on that thread, it is easier to me gather all reservations in a single place, to avoid mistakes and misunderstandings. I would rather discuss here on EAB of technical, functional, behavioral issues as well as user's feedback and criticisms.

Yes, of course ! You can obviously skip the "Bootloader" section, and follow instructions starting from "FLASHING THE HID2AMI APP". Your board's code should be sticked on the DB9 connector. |

@sampedenawa: Does HID2AMI work with a Sega Megadrive / Genesis?
I have a great USB arcade stick I would LOVE to use on the MegaDrive! |

@majinga: I take you are one of the devs. Would it be hard to add MegaDrive support? It would have to be done on the firmware side only, right?

The PCB must be different, the MD have a different pinout, the power pin is in a different place. There are also a lot of changes to do in the firmware, on the MD one pin is used as "clock", the MD pad return a different set of buttons at every rise or fall of the signal. And with the 6 buttons pad is even more complicated.

In addition, HID2AMI makes use of mosfet drivers to output "true retro 5V" signals (the micro PIO outputs @3.3V). This incidentally makes it electrically not possible, with the current pinout, to "read back" the clock from the MD. The same reason because HID2AMI is not thought to emulate CD32 gamepad. |

oh. Ok! Thanks for the detailed information, I will have to keep on looking for a solution, then.
Can you point me to a Megadrive-compatible alternative? |
