It was topview-bitmap that was scrolled with some clever algorithm.. I got a floorscroller program lying on a disk somewhere.. the way we artists could test it was that you put the bitmap on the same folder and start program.. and then scrolled it with mouse to see how it worked..but I cant give you more detail on how it worked as I did not program it.. I was just working on the cancelled datadisk and PiD..
It seems I can attach files here so I put actual floor tile from one unreleased scene.. nothing particularly amazing really but should demonstrate how it was done.. think of doing perspective in photoshop But that I know from the actual program that the AI was actually a some kind of neural net.. the reason that PC version never came was that it was documented so poorly that they were unable to recreate it. There was a playable pc version done, it had 2 player game only.. graphics were modified to 256 colours by reward alias sami vanhatalo who later formed remedy.. |

Speaking of Terramarque...
@cal could you tell us (HOL) whether the Elfmania entry is OK? And maybe the full name of Allan M. the musician? Thanks! [edit] Well according to what Google spits out, and moreover Gryzor's excellent Mods collection, this name change from Antti A. Mikkonen to Aleksi Eeben seems OFFICIAL? That is, he did not change that for the press or the media, but also on his ID card. Is that right??! Last edited by andreas; 03 February 2006 at 11:08. |

I dont know that myself, but I asked golem and he said that Aleksi's namechange is official, so I think your input is quite right - just make clear in the entry that heatbeat and allan M is the same person!
Few people know though that Stavros was in fact behind this game; as far as I know he planned the gameplay and designed all the AI, and also supervised all coding and graphics. He himself did not want to be named in the credits; so it is up to you if you want to add his name or not. |

OK thanks I'll delete Allan M then. One is enough.
btw...could you please ask Golem what was the motivation for this name change? just out of personal curiosity, note that I am probably not going to enter this in HOL artist info in full detail ... Last edited by andreas; 03 February 2006 at 18:34. |

I asked already , he does not have a clue about that.. I guess he felt it was an 'artsy' thing to do.. at housemarque we had one gfx guy who quit and started to write novels and he changed his name into Leo Sebastian.. sheesh

Hehe...well if the name on his ID card stays the same I do not see any reason to discuss about that. But if he really changes it on his ID card also, this is very weird
Maybe some do not like their finnish surnames which clearly identify them as Finns (-anen, -änen, -önen, onen ... ), let alone first names like "Antti". My real first name is Andreas too, and this could be Greek ... or Swedish ... or ... whatever. |
