Yeah, I did that and it worked. I was waiting for it to ask me to put disk #1 back in.

Just as an FYI going forward, you shouldn't need to adjust the numbers of drives / what disk is in each drive with any of my configs
If the game only supports one drive then that's been set. If the game supports more drives then that's been set... if there are more disks than 4 then I've worked out the most efficient disks to have inserted from the start to minimise swapping (as you discovered with Ambermoon). |

Ok Damien, all my bills are auto paid and I have $10 to give to you but only if you'll take this money and get yourself a six pack of beer, a good Mexican plate or whatever.
I will still make the $20 donation next month for the community. Deal? |

It does work if install it over the German versions so I guess we have to wait for another way to translate the files. Its too bad as it appears even the DOS version Mission addon disc is German only as well. |

So what if i'm struggling? I'm never stingy. Money gets spent one way or another. If I can't get you a six pack ok, I won't.
You're a good guy Damien. |

As I'm sure you all know, last night Toni Wilen released WinUAE 4.0.1
Of course I've immediately updated WinUAE in my collection to the latest / greatest... If you decide to do the same; attached are the following "clean" files:
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- You only need to use the .INI file if you don't like registry entries... choose one of the two methods... With the file "WinUAE_v4.0.1_Registry.rar", extract somewhere, then double-click on the "WinUAE.reg" file, select "Yes" and then "OK" to replace the old registry settings With the "WinUAE_v4.0.1_INI.rar" file, extract into "C:\WinUAE" Last edited by DamienD; 11 December 2019 at 13:10. |

You're a good man Philo Beddoe.
By the way, what's the Default Translation DLL file? Is it needed with the update? Last edited by BullyDog; 18 July 2018 at 02:00. |

That's a good guess. Seems it's not needed. Thanks.

Thanks DamienD.
¿Can you try this savestate of Gloom Deluxe? The game crash in my computer. Walk forward to the exit of level teleport. Tried with WinUAE 3.6 and the new 4.01. Attachment 58908 Last edited by OsabaKoldo; 20 July 2018 at 16:45. Reason: Savestate removed. Problem solved. |

.IPF files are used for this game so it not like it's a bad crack issue that's causing this. What version of WinUAE did you make the save state in originally? Toni has recently made some changes to how these are handled. Edit: made a save state just before the exit on level 1, walked in and then played a bit of level 2. Loaded the save state, walked into the exit and then played a bit of level 2 again; all good here Last edited by DamienD; 18 July 2018 at 21:28. |

I gave it a try on V4.0.1
Created many savestates, before the exit of level 1, 2 and 3. entered the exit, and re loaded savestate, died, reloaded savestate. 5 savestates all worked perfectly. Must admit, default settings had df0 & df1 in Write protect mode which was a problem when you launch the game as it requires it to be in non write protect mode to be able to save the setup and launch game. |

You don't usually need to change the type of setup from "Gloom Deluxe" so just click "Cancel Setup" unless you want to play: a) Classic Gloom. b) Gloom on a Screen. If you want to you change to the above though then bring up the GUI, navigate to "Floppy drives" and untick "Write-protected". WinUAE will remember that you've unticked this next time you play the game |

I dont think the savestates fail. They worked fine at the first levels. The game has 3 diferents zones divided in 7 levels each. At the end of level 7 of zone 1, when zone 2 must start, is the crash. This video show the screen of zone 2 (26m 25s):
[ Show youtube player ] Today i used the "ingame cheat system" (see game folder) and jump levels with the HELP key, and the game also crash at the start of zone 2. So maybe the ipfs are corrupts, the configuration is wrong or mi computer had "Stranger Things" Can you try the jump levels cheat? There is another version of the game? Adf, whdload, ... |

The .IPFs won't be corrupt...
No WHDLoad slave but you could try these .ADFs: ... Gloom Deluxe (1996)(Guildhall)(Disk 1 of 2)[h DLM][t +19 SXI][68020].adf ... Gloom Deluxe (1996)(Guildhall)(Disk 2 of 2)[68020].adf Anyway, will test when home tonight. |
