Plays well on my V1200 although some graphic modes seem to cause a problem?
Not a huge fan of mouse look controls but putting the sensitivity up in the options menu helps. Love the fact that you can strafe easily, gives that dodging baddy fire feeling! A feat of amazing programming! |

Just tested it on my 28MHz 2000 and kick 3.2.
The first stunning moment was the point that it is an OS friendly disk using a standard boot section. In Default and shake mode it runs at ~1.90 so ~26FPS if i am right?!? In checkered mode it glitches a lot in the graphics department though it would not crash. I wil test it on my stock+512k 500 as well. This is nothing short but groundbreaking , everyone complaining can try and run Genetic species on their system. Thanks KK |

unfortunately I wasn't able to find that video. Anyway I've just downloaded the demo and I see the C2P code for the Atari under Steem Debugger and tomorrow I'll check also Amiga part under WinUAE debugger |

Game looks amazing, runs very fast. Great job!
Unfortunately when I select hard or nightmare difficulty, the game starts with broken graphics and crash right after. There are more places where the demo crashes so far (tested in winaue, various configurations). Also the open doors zone is rather big... |

Note to anyone else with a stock A500 (with 1MB): disconnect any external drives, even DF1, as they use a bit of RAM just by being connected which stops the game loading. I liked the montage of loading from disk in the YouTube video, after seeing that I crunched the executable before writing it to a disk to save a bit of time I tried it on my STE as well and honestly it probably shocks me even more on the STE! |

It's unplayable using the tank mouse. But: I'm pretty sure joypad support will be added some time soon. |

Though i wish sensitivity would go to 20 it is totally playable. I think as this was tested on an Emulator during programming, mouse speed didn't cause any problems with modern devices. No Second Prize for example, on Win UAE mouse setting 1 is even too fast, on a Rreal A500 "4" is just right. And back in the day there where a lot of really slow non original C= mouse around.... and they would make it unplayable indeed. But non the less, I tested it on my A500 with C=1081 Monitor and i was blown away by how good it looks on a CRT. I now feel like back in the nineties... can't wait for school to end .... and Play that new Game. |

Doesn't work with 68060. I can start game and move few seconds then it freezes.

I was already in bed yesterday and thought: let's check EAB before sleeping.
Then found out about the demo. Needless to say I went out of bed, turned on the A3000 and downloaded the demo (manually typing in the download-link, mind the Capitals!!!). Gave it a quick spin on my A3000 and was blown away. I agree about the mouse sensitivity, for an old tank mouse "20" would be probably optimal. I think I saw KK use a non-Amiga mouse on his A500 (Maybe PS/2 via adapter?) that is probably more sensitive. But, this is nitpicking because the game is still *VERY* playable in my book! Will test it tonight on the A500 (on the A3000/060 there is no sound) for the full experience. Incredibly well done! PS: on the youtube comments some people are moaning about how this is no "real" doom, that they are "not impressed" and how this should have been "done on an Archimedes" instead. If Dread manages to provoke these kind of reactions... then it actually means it must be *really* good! PS2: the outside roof above the red key has a blue ceiling now. Is that new? (Saw it on the ST version as well?) PS3: @KK you need to clean you Amiga 500 Last edited by Mathesar; 06 September 2021 at 13:12. |

Had some time to play it during my lunch break. It's very, very cool. Looks as good as the videos make it out to be and runs like a dream on my A1200 (sorry, the A500 isn't set up permanently so couldn't test it on that one).
In fact, the only minor niggle in terms of gameplay and controls would be that I'd really like a keyboard way to rotate as well as using the mouse. But that's a minor point overall. Can't wait to see how this evolves further |

Today I was able to test DREAD on my Amigas. I have to say that it is very well done, and most impressively, it moves smoothly. Beyond belief.
I tested on Amiga 500 (+ 512k exp) with Commodore 1084 crt, and the rendering of the graphics is phenomenal. I tested on Amiga 600 (2M chip + 4M fast) with Commodore 1084s crt, and here the fluidity of the movements has a noticeable boost. Much more than I thought. Congratulations on the fantastic result, I can't wait to see further progress in the future! |

Really amazing! Now somebody just needs to use the engine to make a 3D RPG game in the style of Eye of the Beholder or Ambermoon...

Absolutely cool! I watched the video, and from what I remember from Doom it really can pass like it. If this would have been released back then, it would have showed them PC suckers. Great work!
