I know 3.2 is coming, but I recently got back into Amiga after not touching mine for a few years and wanted to get 3.1.4, so I ordered it and a set of physical ROMs for my A1200. I hope it arrives before 3.2 is out lol
I also hope there's some sort of upgrade discount so I don't have to shell out full price twice in a short time! |

Discounts? Really? Come on guys..
How much is for 3.1.4 with ROMS? Like 35€? Is that so much? Show some appreciation for the developers, their work and knowledge. |

- first is to download Roms as files which are provided after buying - and then burn them yourself into eproms. You can buy your own empty eprons and the device to burn them or pay someone for that kind of service in your local area electric service. - second is, if you have turbocard that can handle the rom, |

I do have an ACA card capable of using maprom. I have to wait for my Amiga OS 3.1.4 it to show up before I can use it as I need to register the license with Hyperion. I asked if they could email me the license and they said that they can't. Last edited by chromium; 27 January 2021 at 07:48. |

Optional features - Because some might hate them 1. Option to show time in the title bar on Workbench screen 2. Option to have volume control on title bar, if possible 3. Option to have "Single window navigation" of folders 4. Integration of some commodities, like click to front & mouse disappear when keyboard used. 5. Global clipboard? I know this will be messy, lots of legacy apps won't support, but for anything we can update it is very useful. 6. Command history and auto-complete for Amiga Dos window 7. Requesting permission to provide some of the 3rd party data types out of the box Please don't mention any 3rd party tools, my feelings are all about having a nicer out of the box experience I love Amiga, but I think it is good to consider some limited enhancements (visual and functional) to the user experience, some of the stuff we take for granted today. Updates to standard experience * Ability to boot from IDE CD-ROM for A1200/A600/A4000 * Ability to boot from CF Hard disk plugged into PCMCIA slot |

Seconding this.
Cursor blinking is a massive annoyance and should at the very least be opt-out. For me, the non blinking block cursor is one of the Amiga's little gems that I constantly miss on other platforms. It also seems strange from a coherency standpoint to introduce another way of rendering cursors that clashes with most existing applications and goes against 35 years of precedence. Quote:

As for datatypes - our basic datatypes will be better than the alternatives out there, so not much point in asking to include something that is worse. |

I too prefer the non-blinking block cursor for things like coding, Shell, string gadgets, plain text editors and basically anything that's not WYSIWYG, and a line cursor for WYSIWYG applications. In my mind both situations are very different, and having different cursors as a consequence is actually warranted given the differences in actions.

Agree... if a major update was coming out every year I’d happily pay 50€ for it.... now a good idea would be to do multi machines licensing... or even AGA/ECS/OCS licences for all machines of 1 kind you own...

Here's another 0.02 added. Smile! I don't think it's any kind of annoyance, but I do agree with this statement. I just accepted it for the C64, but you're correct, there were times when I was coding that..I would have liked it to Stop. I adore than AmigaOS's doesn't do that. |

Blinking/notblinking is something I didn't even notice for at least the last twenty years.
Wow. |

Depends on much you get into the OS and details. Which also carries over into other aspects of your life.

Any news about Cloanto vs Hyperion that would affect the release (and or release date) of 3.2?
I can't find anything recent/useful on Google. |
