OK, I am going to move all the personal stuff to another thread for easily deleting when everyone realises bringing up their dramas from other forums is pointless.
Speak to your admin team about unbanning him if you want to discuss it further. McGeezer, you did invite them to come over by raising the issue here, so it kinda needs to run it's course I feel. New thread is here: http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=97435 Any more posts on the subject in here will be deleted. Last edited by Ian; 20 May 2019 at 12:28. |

Well..... i did say normal service would resume today and it has.
Here's rounds 7 through 16 added as far as the backgrounds and tile maps are concerned. I have to say I'm super pleased with how they've came out they look absolutely amazing showing off the AGA palette. In the next update I'm going to do a bit of commentary and show how I actually go about making up the enemies and events in one of the rounds...those interested should find it insightful. Update... (yeah I do lots...always have)
Here are all of the rounds loaded now... all rounds..1 to 27! The floppy disk has roughly 28Kb remaining, to crunch the entire game onto one disk is one of my key aims now. Some of the music and SFX is missing..... but with some optimisation I can squeeze them in. I am super pleased with this update, the game really is becoming a reality now, part of the point of the long video is for me to spot the glitches. I know last update I promised I would show how I configure the enemies on a level... I'll make up for that in my next update. Amazing what you have achieved within roughly one year. There are still a lot of small little things to do, but it looks like The end of is in sight now. And all on just one floppy disk? Congratulations!
May I ask you how you did the vertical sections? |

Yes, all on one floppy disk... I'm super pleased with that. I'm lazy with the vertical scrolling as I don't use the copper to do a video split I simply copy the upper and lower sections of the pristine buffer to the display buffers. The vertical scrolling technique I use is described here: http://aminet.net/package/dev/src/ScrollingTrick There are both English and German versions and the document to read is the yunlimited2-uk.html or yunlimited2-de.html As I said the only difference though is that I don't use the copper to video split, the reason being is that during the vertical scene there isn't alot going on and I just about have enough time to keep things going at 50FPS by copying the upper and lower parts of the display... normally the copper would do this for you but the side effect of that is you have to blit your sprites in two parts if they cross the video split position (big pain as I did not think it through beforehand). I see less ice on stage 21 and 22 of Arcade Rygar in 1985 than Amiga version in 2019, so Global Warming is real
