Yes I used nitro, but I'm not convinced it makes a huge difference, if any. I also couldn't work out if the starting position made a difference or not. Or if either route gave significant benefit. I've done so many runs on track 5, trying so many tactics that I now believe only a few definitely contribute significantly to quick runs.

1. Super missiles. I started with homing but supers are more effective in that one can kill several cars and they can kill to the side as you over take etc just to remove an opponent on corners etc.

2. Nitro's. Not a huge difference but they do count. Both in the straights AND in the central north corner section. You can nitro into it from the straight ahead route option.

3. A clean start is critical. As soon as the hooter goes it's three supers and a nitro after the first 180 bend.
Don't worry the competition went until midnight, it was totally fair to post up until then.

I agree that "Super" are the right weapons and that a good start is essential while as for Nitro I always thought that in this race the straight-lines were too short but, maybe, if used well they can help you to save a few tenths of a second.

Congratulations on your victory!

Well that turned into some round! Some high quality racing there from many people so well done to all, and of course to LinesMachine for bagging first place. Bad luck to those who just missed out but the bar just kept getting raised there.

Stay tuned for Round 11 - brought to you by a stinking hangover.
