I would always say no. It's fast enough without it and IMHO the JIT just makes things instable.
I find that using Fast Forward during the fight sequences makes these games even more fun to play. |

WinUAE has the ability to run the emulator at faster than a normal amiga in bursts. Like fast forward on a DVD or MP3.
You can run WinUAE faster for the boring fight sequences Also known as "FPS Adj" Last edited by alexh; 29 December 2008 at 21:14. |

thanks just tried, good for combats.
i found another interesting setting to speed up 3d scenarios by using the chipset slider at maximum in "adjustable between cpu and chipset" (cpu/fpu tab). any other suggestions before i enter the realm of lyramion again? |

I don't consider it cheating as you are given a MAP with the game.
http://www.larshaugseth.com/ambermoon/ Familiarise yourself with the bugs in the English (v1.07) game before playing, especially where it can crash. Code:
1) Burnville - Map labels in German 2) Snakesign - Map labels in German 3) Newlake - Map labels in German 4) LUMINOR's TOWER 3 - text on the door to Valdyn typo * CRASH * 5) BEAST's CAVE - Skeleton's text typo * CRASH * 6) PALACE OF PELANIS - bad-translated hint, 'WORRYING' 7) TEMPLE OF GALA - crystal ball's text typo * CRASH * 8) TEMPLE OF GALA - ba-translated hint 9) ILLIEN - riddlemouth in SE corner cannot be answered due to two "ring" in the dictionaryenglish.file one of the 'RING' replaced with 'LOST RING'. 10) WHIRLPOOL - missed textblock * CRASH * 11) LYRAMION [0,0] - bug when sailing/flying near this point * CRASH * 12) SAND LIZARD - untranslated 'SANDCHSE' changed to 'SAND LIZARD' 13) SANSRIE'S TUNNEL - SANSRIE'S KEY doesnt open tunnel door 14) PELANIS - Several entries refer to 'PELANIS' as 'PELANI' ( 2Map_texts.amb : 1A0.amb, 1A1,amb ) 15) SANSRIES TEMPLE - mismatched textures between 2nd and 3rd and 1st and second floors ( down has stairs going up and up has stairs going down ) 16) ILLIEN : 'Lendrai's Magic Weapon: open 9 AM to 7 PM' corrected to '9 AM to 5 PM' ( 2Map_texts.amb : 1A0.amb [22/07/01] ) 17) WINDGATES : Bitmap corruption at Gemstone (310;736) and Illien (283;250) 18) ($B4) vs ($27) - All the 'S places i.e. WITCH's HOUSE had a ($B4) instead of a ($27) hence didnt show up as "'S" ( 1-2-3Map_texts.amb, dictionaryenglish.file [12/07/01] ) 19) LIBARY - typo in dictionary file, LIBARY [12/07/01] 20) MOP - "Mother-o-pearl chai" (AM2_CPU/AM2_BLT [11/07/01]) 21) "CHAMBERS OF THE HEAD PRIEST" : too long for map view, changed to "HEAD PRIST'S CHAMBERS" ( 2Map_texts.amb, 1B0.amb [07/07/01] ) 22) Zombie Meister - ( Monster_char_data.amb, 008.amb [01/June/01] ) 23) Burnville - House of artists needs a CR after the cartographers name ( 2Map_texts.amb 11D.amb [03/June/01] ) 24) Thieves' Guild shop : Open from 1PM to 8PM should read "1 AM to 8 AM" ( 2Map_texts.amb, 109.amb [3/June/01] ) 25) Father Antonius mismatch - Anthony "FATHER ANTONIUS TAKES THE FLOWER AND THE WATER OF LIFE FROM YOU AND MIXES THEM" ( NPC_texts.amb, 002.amb [03/June/01] ) 26) Lebab's Tower Brass - "hangs a parchment::" too many ':' ( 1Map_texts.amb, 0B9.amb [05/jul/01] ) Last edited by alexh; 30 December 2008 at 13:37. |

It would be nice to have an easily installable, fully fixed English version with some hints of how to improve the game play (speed up the slow parts), all in one place.
Make it your New Year's Resolution! That, or you'll just have to finish it in 2008. Oh dear look at the time... |

Well Albion was done by some of the old Developers but it a different Story so not a real 3rd part but it plays the same style and is a really nice game.

The riddles they ask are somewhat difficult - at least if your literacy and combinatorial talents don't surpass the abilities of brain-dead seaweed.
However the riddle mouth in the south-east park, triggers a bug in the dictionary file in the English version making it impossible to answer (without editing the dictionary file). The answer should have been RING but there are two entries for RING in the dictionary file. It is fairly easy to decrypt and edit that file. |

At [14,13] the eastern wall looks strange, it has a crack in it. Try to memorize the wall texture here, there are more places like this. Use the pick-axe you found at [24,24]
At [18,5] there is hole in the ceiling. It's a little bit hard to see if you have switched on the ceiling texture in the options menu. Cast a spell of levitation or use a rope to ascend to a tornak cave. Last edited by alexh; 16 January 2009 at 01:20. |
