The membrane versions would probably be immensely popular as well if it were possible to get the rubber/plastic parts manufactured.

Color me interested for 2x A1200 keyboards and 1x A600 keyboard. Where will they be shipping from, as I'm from Belgium I'd rather have them coming from the UK than North America (Duty and shipping costs )

I'm down for a 1200 Cherry and my ears are open for news on a 2000 variant.
For months I'd been thinking about how excellent it'd be to have the Cherry MX Blue performance of my Das Keyboard in my A1200, and was thinking of stripping the keyboard to start drawing something up... but then Kipper's done it and better than I ever could, legend! |

Yippee, hooray! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Will the keyboards sold by Amiga on the Lake be complete, ready to install? As in take the new keyboard out of the box, stick it in the Amiga, plug in ribbon cable, close case and go? You mentioned PAL layout. Will there be a US / NTSC layout? Do you have any rough idea of when they would be available for purchase from Amiga on the Lake? |

This is fantastic news.
Frankly, the Amiga I use the most is the early version A500 because the mechanical keyboard on it is just so much better than what I have on later 500s and 1200. If I could, I would replace all the keyboards in my Amigas with mechanical ones. Safe to say that this news is right up my alley! |

I certainly could see me order one for all three of my Amiga's. But I'm holding my breath until I see something concrete about the price. i really hope this is priced affordable to more than just a few users, everyone deserves a nice keyboard :-)

Looks really nice. If those ship to the US, I'd definitely be in the market for one for my A1200. Do those use a different set of key caps, and if so where do I find them?

meta-comment here, is there value to the "me too" posts? I think kipper2k said there would be a supplier for these so it might not be necessary

Hi All,
I am very close to getting a price on the a500/a1200 MX. The biggest thing i have to worry about is colours as the more colours that are in the mix then the more processes that happen and of course the price reflects that. All keys in the proper sizes/angles are confirmed available so now the nagging thing is trying to figure out how to do this. As i said, the more colours the more the price will increase... We have a caps lock with the lens, and we have the left and right amiga symbol. I am going to talk to Aaron at Amiga on the lake about being the contact and first chair so to speak. Reason being is the keys are being produced in the USA so the cost will be much lower than trying to do it here or probably over in Europe. I am going to speak to him tonight and try to get a wishlist/preorder set up and then i will wait a few days and then we can announce the price. It will take 6 weeks for the order to be ready so we are still in time for xmas period (barely) As soon as i can get Aaron involved i will put this project into high gear. I am going to state that the prices will be comparable with a good high end PCmx board, bearing in mind the custom keys and design. I cant commit to a number yet but being up front, the more we get the price drops BIGTIME! I am not going to try to control the purchase of MX keys, if anyone else can get deals then please chime in, but not if it is going to take forever Last edited by kipper2k; 17 October 2018 at 00:18. |

Holy Shit. This is amazing.
Cherry MX Blues all the way!!!! It's the one thing I've always wanted for my classic systems; upgrades to the keyboard. Ever since I've seen the upgraded clicky domes for the Atari ST, I've coveted the ability to upgrade the keyboard. Now if only someone did this for the Atari range too :P I would definitely like an A1200 and probably an A600 too. (Depending on my budget that month!) And custom double shot keys with a nice blue glow are now (almost) in reach!!! This is the best news I've heard all week. |
