Thanks! I guess i am thinking about low-level programming. On high level I understand the necessity to keep iterations down. On low-level (small programs with few iterations) i would guess that tidy code is more important than sparing the cpu from 1 (or 100) iterations...

"Profilers" you say...Interesting...! Will do a google now to learn some more
