Only one who could thank me is Jens, because I bought those keyboard stickers from his webshop.

Guys... Goteks come with one LED, and a second hidden away... Some people drill a hole and make 2nd available but what functions do both LEDs do? I don't have a Gotek yet..
I'm looking for good guides as to hacks etc.. not just pics... What is the LED "hack" for? |

Show us your drive emulator mods (Gotek/HxC/etc)

Correct, you rarely see the red led operating. It's possible some sellers have made additional mods to the Gotek but I'd be surprised if that's true. Edit: I might be wrong, I'll check a couple of mine and report back. |

I don't know what they used to paint that case but I would recommend using Vinyl Dye, and wear a respirator.

First time I see a case covered in Play-Doh.
Sinphaltimus, it may be time you invest in a Dremel, they are not that expensive and would make clean modifications. |

Akira, funny thing is I'm known amongst my friends for my years and years of ugly mods.
I have and use a dremel I just don't think I have the right attachments for every job nor do I know what most of the tips are and should be used for. The paint still need a final sanding and touch up. I often thought about starting a youtube channel called UGLY MODS. I like my ugly mods. They are truly unique and diverge from the perfect pristineness of very talented people who mod things that end up looking like they came from the factory that way. I love those clean mods too but they are outside of the scope for me and my efforts. If I could afford all the pipes and mounts and non stop battle with dust, I'd not even use cases. My basement would look like the nebuchadnezzar from the Matrix and I would be in heaven. I am much more about function over form when it comes to things I mod for myself. It actually warms my heart when people comment on how crappy my modding skills are. because in the end, it works as intended and has my signature characteristics to it. Also, I have faceplate covers. I rarely have any need for the GoTek or the floppy drive in my Tower, so I keep those covered with faceplates only to expose them on the rare occasion I need floppy functions.
