Auto-start is off until I figure out scripting or go down the 1-OS-per-game route that Retro1234 advised. The latter requires SS to be configured per game too, another thing I don't know how to do yet.
No prob, I enjoyed fiddling around with it. edit: on a sidenote, we might as well have one big hvf file with OS+all games and start them with mouse but that kind of defeats the purpose. I'd like to just pick a game with earok's menu and see it all start. |

Assuming it's via various scripts. Last edited by DamienD; 04 August 2019 at 18:30. |

Been playing POP2; have only had the intro load / play once properly out of say 10 attempts.
Also, finished the first stage numerous times but you don't get to see cut scene afterwards. Finally, the game requires a manual... after entering the cave at the start of stage 2 you are presented with this: |

Were there any Resolution settings when installing POP 2?
I've messed around with ShapeShifter settings and the game started 9 times out of 10 but I don't know if this is because of what I changed or just luck. Last edited by Retro1234; 04 August 2019 at 20:35. |

We would need to configure ShapeShifter from the command line to tell it where the OS HDD file of the particular game is. I've found this in SS's manual: "FILE <filename> - Loads the settings from the specified file" That will do I guess. It still bothers me a bit to duplicate the OS for each game, but it works. Another question is: what games? They should be playable on a 030 and with a joypad. |

Updated the hdf in the Zone. It now has separate OS's for POP 1 & 2 and auto-starts the games.

Looking good
...but I still don't understand why only 1 time out of 10 I see the intro properly; usually after "a game by Jordan Mechner" it's just black in the frame. Also, still no cut scene after finishing the 1st level; I mean, you see it flash for 1 second then. Are you guys not experiencing these issues? |

Macintosh Prince of Persia 2 is very hard to emulate on any Mac emulator. Usually it lacks the in game music, or sound is garbled.
Here is a proper longplay video that I made some time ago: [ Show youtube player ] But even without sound it is still good game with excellent graphics. (better than the DOS version). Too bad it was never released on Amiga, so we have to use the Mac version. |

I can give you one when I'm home tonight
Pretty easy, just watch the video I posted here: [ Show youtube player ] Once on the 2nd stage, you cross the stones and enter the cave; this is when the protection check kicks in. |

Long time not played this game but if my memory serves me well, the first level is only a fight/run/jump (left direction) util you hang yourself on a boat.
Quickly done. Think the protection check appears as soon as you enter a cave after you wake up on an island. Edit: drHirudo & DamienD were faster |

I've read that POP 2 is a bit problematic under emulation
ShapeShifter does have Frame Skip option. at some point ill try and get Blackthorn and Alone In the Dark in the Zone. |

Alone in the Dark will probably be ok, it was not to bad on my 68030
The display option allows a lower res screen normally this appears in Quite a small window but settings ShapeShifter to 320*256 I think I can't quite remember the game is displayed full screen. |
