That's what I get with winuae_1450b10.zip (1.4.4 works ok) when loading a backdrop image in Workbench 3.1 if Motherboard RAM (High area) is set to 8mb's or more. This happens with at least 2 presets (A4000 and Expanded WinUAE example configuration) Can anyone confirm? |

I didn't try loading a backdrop image but I can confirm that my A4000 config doesn't work correctly when the (high area) ram is set greater then 4 megs. I'm not sure what the (high area) is for, you should use the (low area). That's the low area of the high area. I know that sounds strange, but the high area is above the 16meg level, and apparantly it's divided into high and low. I set the (low area) to 64megs and it worked fine. I normally use the Z3 ram, but I keep some ram in the low area in case something needs it because that's the normal motherboard ram. I'm not really up on this, so if anybody else has better info I'd be interested. |

I've just started testing the beta versions. Version 10 (not tested the others yet) is giving me a problem with a few HDF files. They're just refusing to boot. All I get is the purple 'insert disk' screen. Is anyone else having problems with HDF files not booting using beta 10?
Trying out the hires sprites in super stardust. The main sprite looks a bit more detailed I think. Is that the new addition? I've also noticed the large asteroid is now shimmering and flashing a bit which didn't happen in the last version of WinUAE. This next one is not beta specific but I can't get level 2 of super stardust to load up. It just goes to a black screen and the music keeps playing. It should show the level select screen. Anyone got this working? I'm using the original ipf disk files by the way and not a dodgy cracked version. I always test using ipf files. Last edited by Steve; 11 November 2007 at 11:14. |

Tested again using standard A1200 quickstart settings. This fixes the asteroid graphic glitches although I've now noticed shimmering on the time counter when your ship flies underneath it. Still can't get the level select screen to display the for level 2.
I've uploaded to the zone one of my HDF files that won't boot using the latest beta version. Last edited by Steve; 11 November 2007 at 12:07. |

http://www.winuae.net/files/b/winuae_1450b11.zip
Beta 11: - some device insertions caused crashes - quick start mode on/off registry setting fixed (b9) - A3000 RAM detection problem fixed (b10) - some hardfiles didn't automount - Sana2 device is working, at least in theory.. Sana 2 device emulation instructions: Requirements: OpenVPN Win32 TAP driver http://openvpn.net/download.html (OpenVPN 2.1_rc4 or newer) run OpenVPN installer, only needed component is "TAP-Win32 Virtual Ethernet Adapter" Now TAP Adapter and real network adapter needs to be bridged. Go to "Network Connections", select both TAP adapter and your real network adapter and select "Bridge Connections" from right mouse menu. http://www.pavelec.net/adam/openvpn/bridge/ (only steps 1 and 2 are needed, name is not important) Check new bridged adapter has correct IP settings. (This is now your "real" network adapter) Windows networking should continue working normally. (Perhaps there is simpler solution?) Enable "uaenet.device" in misc-panel. Emulation-side device name is "uaenet.device" (remember to disable bsdsocket emulation or there may be bsdsocket.library conflicts) Note: without bridging all sent data goes to black hole and nothing can be received either. Emulator can't detect bridge's status. Not supported (yet): - multicast - tracked stats counters - promiscuous mode - something I forgot.. Other notes: - global stats may not be correct - stability may not be too good - very ugly interrupt routine.. (CopyToBuff,CopyFromBuff made things very complex..) - produces lots of logging - MiamiDX DHCP and ping worked - OS3.9 Genesis never tries to send any data.. Confusing.. - didn't test AmiTCP, I didn't bother to configure it - as you can see, not much testing done.. |

Thanks for the new beta Toni. Inserting A Cd works now. Do you have
any idea why 2 CD icons appear, if i insert a CD? Also all my config files supplied with Amiga Forever 2006 don't work anymore. They all give a message that they couldn't load the system rom, even though the paths are set correctly. If i manually choose a romfile, they refuse to boot. All these config files worked ok in beta 8. Kind regards, Lloyd |

But I can guess. Do you have CD drive letter included in harddrive panel and CD automount ("Include CD/DVD drives..") enabled? Or uaescsi.device drives mounted. Quote:

I'm using uaescsi .device spti for using Cd's. Include cd/dvd drives is not set. Did some testing: If i set it to use uaescsi.device adaptecaspi or frogaspi it works as normal, but any other option shows 2 icons when
inserting a CD. So I have now set it to frogaspi (whatever that means ) As for the AF2006 config-files: I also don't have a clue. Maybe there are other users who own af2005/2006 who would be so kind to test this ? Thanks, Kind regards, Lloyd |

I'm having the same problem with the CDs. With uaescsi.device off, cd/dvd off, and no cds in the harddrive panel I still get one icon, and two if I have uaescsi.device on. It doesn't seem to matter if cd/dvd is enabled or disabled. The config file seems to reflect the setting properly, I think I found it. The problem seems to have started sometime during WinUAE1440, 1430 works. I noticed this before but I don't use CDs that much and I was busy with something else and forgot. |

Toni, i think something is still wrong in the paths section. Each time
i start beta 11 i have to set it to af2005+ and reset to default + rescan roms. Otherwise it won't find the system rom when running an amiga forever 2006 config file. Kind regards, Lloyd Last edited by Mozzerfan; 11 November 2007 at 19:15. |

Every time i install winuae 1.4.5 beta 11 i have
to reset the paths to af2005+ default values and rescan the roms every time i start winuae, even though the paths are correctly shown. if i don't do that, and i start winuae and load a config file of amiga forever 2006, it can't find the rom file when i want to run this config. Edit : Winuae shows the following message: "Couldn't load system rom. Trying system rom replacement" This happens with all config files of amiga forever 2006. Also when i can get winuae to boot with a af2006 config file (by resetting the paths) the system doesn't boot correctly. It never boots into workbench. All i see is a flickering black screen. If i go back to winuae 1.4.5 beta 8 these config files work without a problem, and i don't have to reset the paths each time i start winuae. kind regards, lloyd Last edited by Mozzerfan; 11 November 2007 at 21:07. |

The short version of the CD problem is, the CD is being auto mounted as a removable media harddrive, it shows up as RDH6 on my computer when I do an info. I believe this is probably not what's supposed to happen. |

And yes, CDs should not be mounted that way unless CD/DVD-mount option is checked.. |

Paths setting issue found. Paths work but "path mode" selection is not read correctly from registry/ini.
uaenet.device has stupid design fault, do not use it until next beta (but I still don't understand whats wrong with Genesis..) |
