Goddamit Blake (Fingerlickin_B), I wish you hadn't linked me this thread! Now I want my stuff back!
![]() Haha, just kidding ![]() Reading this thread of trials and tribulations has brought back a lot of memories - I had almost all the same issues (obviously - it was the SAME friggin hardware!). ![]() Glad to hear you got it all sorted though - those pics look awesome! I still remember the joy I felt when I finally got everything woking... Hmm....I might have to go pull out my A1200 now - I suddenly feel the urge to stick it in a tower... ![]() |

I'd use a 15/16 bit mode in 800x600. I can barely tell the difference between 65,000 and 24 million colors, but there is a further speed improvement in reducing to 15/16 bit. If you want 1024x768 (should look crisper on an LCD), then run it 256 colors as you probably won't have enough video ram to use more colors. try 1024 x768 in 15/16 bit and see. Anyway i think 24 bit is overkill, regardless of the resolution you use, but it will be the slowest.
And "planes to fast" has caused some graphics corruption with software that can't or won't be promoted to an rtg screen eg scala and dpaint Last edited by stefcep2; 08 October 2010 at 04:53. |

Lots more experimenting to do & thanks for the suggestions
![]() Funny, no interlaced P96 screenmodes will display at all (at least not on the LCD, haven't tried interlaced on a CRT). A lot of them, the monitor just goes black, but doesn't complain about the signal, like it does for non-laced out-of-range modes. This is not a problem for me, merely a point of interest... PZ. |
