I disabled modplug for now for two reasons:
1. Sometimes songs "hang/loops" 2. It too often doesn't return that it cant play a file, for example you can feed it a dll-file and it will very often try to play it (not very successful I might add) I tried a couple of modules and compared them to some other players, and I don't get wrong speed... so what exactly do you do? I really want to implement UADE, I just hope I'm able to integrate it into FMOD. FMOD's has it's interface that I must follow and hopefully it's not impossible to do it. |

I haven't done anything unusual, just unpacked MultiPlayer onto the Desktop started it and tried playing this module. I've recorded a short flash clip demonstrating the problem, to see it click here.
As I said previously the problem is not specific to this MOD file - I've tried at least 6 different MODs of various formats - or this PC. |

Wow...that is totally weird... I have no idea what this can be. I also unpacked that version to my desktop and ran it with that module and it played fine. I tried drag'n'drop, open file and from command line with the same results...

Great! I never understood why I could not get it to work in Deliplayer (same thing for Turrican 2 and 3 sub songs). Thanks.

Sounds like a good release- time to try it finally. As for the version numbers, you don't have to stick with a decimal numbering system. No reason 1.0 has to follow 0.9. In version numbering, 0.10 is a perfectly logical step following 0.9. It did raise a bit of a, let's just say debate when MAME went from 0.99 to 0.100 a few years back, but people who didn't know about version numbering just had to get used to it.

I'll stick to normal versioning though... I've already used 0.45 so if I would suddenly go to 0.10... 0.20 etc 0.45 would suddenly be the latest version.

You could always sneakily change 0.45 to 0.4.5...

Hi bLAZER,
I just downloaded and tried Multiplayer. Very nice program you made The GUI looks nice and the window snapping is a really nice feature. I have some (not format related ) suggestions. The pitch slider is a nice feature, but there is no 'reset to 100%' or a manual input control for it. I've played around with the slider and couldn't reset it to 100% (103% was nearest). So either you make a context menu on the slider with a reset option or change the label with the current percentage to an input box, so the value can be entered manual (and exact with is always hard with a slider ) In the playlist there should be a remove button for the selected song. I added a MOD file that's not supported within other players (but does play with Fasttracker 2) and had to clear the list to remove it. There should also be a 'add folder' button for the playlist (and to make it really great with a 'include subfolder' option ). Okay and now one obvious feature request : Saving and loading the playlist I guess it's already on your 2Do-list but I thought I add it here anyway I'm looking forward to see the next version. For the programmers curiosity : With which language and compiler did you do it? Last edited by TCD; 15 June 2008 at 11:05. |

Hey CyberDruid, thanks for the feedback.
I'll add an 'add folder' button, but you are aware that you already can drag'n'drop folders (recursivley)? About the sliders, you can actually move them with the cursor keys after you have clicked on it. I was thinking make them snap to the default value though. I'm using Visual Studio and C++ and QT. |

I have another one for you Is it possible that Multiplayer 'remembers' the last folder from which modules were added? Also the last volume should be saved. I would recommend a small XML file for the settings. |

What do you mean the slider gets misaligned?
Yes, remembering last folder could certainly be added. I use a textfile, settings.ini to save the settings in, not in XML though. |

You are right about the textfile. XML would cause some overhead to the program. Thanks for concerning my ideas . |

Tried it with a few modules and it seems to work fine. However, some things I didn't like:
- the GUI is way too big ;D - there should be an option add a whole directory to the playlist - at last for noise/pro/fastracker modules there should be an option to view the module info - when I click on the time when a pt module is running, remaining time is displayed as ??:??, doesn't look too nice and it's possible to calculate the playtime of such modules! Other than that, seems to be a nice little player, keep it going! |

No need to write a new replayer just to display the remaining time of a module. As he has to load the module anyway, he can parse it and calculate the length!
