The ZX Next and Mega65 are both FPGA based, just like the Vampire. The X16 at the very least uses a real 6502 CPU, although still tied to a FPGA.

You are completely delusional or you've been living on a desert island for the past 40 years. An Amiga, whether it's the Vampire or the Amiga 2400 that you've conjured up in your head has nothing to offer today's tech consumer. The Amiga died years ago and any of its incarnations at the moment will forever be niche systems for the retro hobbyist. A niche which shrinks with every passing year. And most of what you've been babbling about has already been tried and failed or it just limps along because the ship has sailed and those who are left marooned on the Island of Misfit Computers can't let go of 1992.

It’s nice to have wishes, everybody does, but you have to realise the situation the Amiga brand is in and the super slim chance of anything happening.

Imo the Amiga being marketed as a new ‘computer’ is over, yes people can upgrade, mod do whatever they want with their current/old models, this market is extremely niche and only the most ardent fans will use their Amiga as their only computer.

The only chance the Amiga has to prosper and gain a little traction (which can only benefit future developers of games) is a cheap Amiga Mini, not FPGA based as the cost is simply too much, the majority of sales wouldn’t be aimed at us, but people who used to own one and want some nostalgia, play some old games, play the odd mod file.

Using software emulation, cheap pre-made board - Pi4 or similar, two models like the C64 mini, one purely for gamers in a Mini non-working kb case + joystick, the other with bigger working kb + mouse
