This seems to be a common issue with new Amiga hardware today. They sell out, and second batches doesn't seem to appear very quickly.

And understandable enough no one really dares to make even larger batches, since they might end up with a lot of units which after the first rush, can take a long time to sell.

But i do think that there is quite a market for the a600 accelerators.
I'm glad that i managed to upgrade my order to the ACA630-30

Ordered a 25MHz ACA600 now, can not really afford it, but better now than never. Will be my backup Amiga for my A1200/060 once I sell off all my bigbox systems.

How is the status of memory card and Indivision for A600, hope they will be available during 2011?

It feels like christmas again in 1992 with all this nice new Amiga hardware... sigh.

Jens' username should be renamed: Santa.

I'm keeping everything crossed that my 28Mhz version for my A1200 arrives before 23rd Dec as we're spending Xmas in Portsmouth and I MUST have it to take with me so the Bro In Law and I can have a quality blast on the A1200 whilst I'm down there.

However, what is Maprom? Is this a hardware function that allows different kickstart images to be stored there?

@vroom6sri

Looks like the 28Mhz version will be here next week in the first package, so you can mod the A1200 before the 23rd.

MapROM allows you to store a Kickstart in Fast Memory

Several parcel services denied driving down here to Woffelsbach, because the serpentines haven't been cleared of the snow. I managed to meet all parcel services about 10km away from here (elevation about 140m higher), so they did not have to make the drive down the serpentines. There's heavy snow and strong winds in this area - I think this combination is called a "blizzard", right? So the ACA1230 is shipped "despite the blizzard" :-)

Resellers in Germany, England and Sweden will be able to ship shortly.

Great pun, Jens and thanks for making that extra effort of driving to meet the delivery guys - you really are taking on a Santa like role!

Thanks for the info, Amigakit. Presumably you need one of those re-kick programs to do this or it MapRom the actual program that does it?

Nice to hear that you're going the extra mile to get these shipped

I'd really have loved to add an ACA630 to my collection before XMAS but I just don't think I can make it stick with my other projects and of course the big day its self.

Hopefully there are some left in the new year as I really do want the ACA630/Indi ECS combo for my A600.

A quick question that does not seem to have been answered. Will there be a second batch of the ACA630/30's or is that it, no more ever?

Cheers & keep up the good work.

Steve.

The MapROM function can be activated with the ACAtune tool that I'll put up on the web page in the next one or two days. You can copy the contents of the kickstart rom into ram with the tool - this would work without a re-boot.

The second possibility is to load a kickstart file from harddisk. This only takes a fraction of a second, and the kickstart file can even be 1M in size, just like the ones floating around for Kickstart 3.5 or Kickstart 3.9.

I still haven't updated the web page with the ACA1230 description, but the ACAtune options are the same as for the ACA630, including the tuning/timing options, cache on/off and such. You're getting quite a set of options with this tiny card!

Good thinking there Herr Schönfeld Now if you tell me you aren't as excited as we are to get these gems in our Amigas, I won't believe you...

@Amigakit: have the first 25MHz ACA630s shipped? I'm confused whether it was yesterday or next Thursday that you'd get the first ones.

You all know the coca cola adverts? Maybe in the back of the coca cola truck is the Indivision cargo with Jens drinking Brandy and Coke with a white cat on his lap.... stroking the cat with manic laughing about how the Amiga will rule the world once again?
