Hi,
I saw there was 2 SCP files in Turran for the game Technocop : https://ftp.grandis.nu/turran/FTP/Th...8)(U.S.%20Gold)[original%20disk%20scp].7z or https://ftp.grandis.nu/turran/FTP/Fl...8)(U.S.%20Gold)[original%20disk].scp.zip Please could You create an IPF file for this game ? Edit : The game seems to work on a real A500 with a Gotek drive after converting the SCP file i HFEv3 file. Many Thanks, Best regards, Pascal Last edited by PascalDe73; 09 May 2024 at 15:09. |

It even works as an adf.
Be aware there's Byte Bandit virus on the bootblock in the SCP dump. I've Zoned a couple of adfs. The Byte Bandit infected one as well as a cleaned adf. |

There is, that's why I chose adf over ipf.

Hi Barry, Retroplay is right... There is a bootBlock virus in the SCp and in Your IPF Question : Ok ... any solution to remove the virus on the SCP version ? Is that version (SCP) is a cracked Version ? Last edited by PascalDe73; 09 May 2024 at 17:48. |

Hmm, could it be a budget re-release or possibly compilation version ?
This version doesn't have the Herndon HLS file like the other U.S. Gold versions I've seen. |

All the tracks in the SCP are index aligned, so how was that SCP made, index aligned implies it's duplicated!! Was it an ADF run through the Greaseweazle converter to make ADF > SCP?
Thers is another dump: https://ftp2.grandis.nu/turran/FTP/F...S.%20Gold).zip This one is Virus free (but not index aligned) so is this hacked as there is no mention of Gremlin Graphics on the initial title screen only 'THE SCC' and the High Scores are different! |

Technocop
Whether the Technocop re-release was based on an actual crack I can't say for sure, because the copy protection was an absolute joke in the first place, I can't see how it would have caused any problems.
So on the original it loads up "techboot.prg", which does a protection track check on side 1 of Track 0, if it fails, it crashes, if it passes, it then proceeds to load up file "car.iff". The problem with this "protection" is you don't need "techboot.prg" at all, you can simply change the startup-sequence to load "car.iff" instead, as its the executable game file, which is exactly what they did. |

Was it a boxed game ?
If so, do the box look like the US Gold box as shown at HOL ? https://amiga.abime.net/games/view/technocop#scans |
