No misunderstanding here, it's the 'special environment' part of your sentence that plays an important role here indeed. Two resets are needed in the following scenario:
- if you have a 3.1 ROM
- if you want to use BlizKick
- if you have a P5 Blizzard card
- if you want exec to be in fast

When all are applicable, two resets are needed on a cold start.

To troubleshoot this even further, I suggest you BlizKick the official 3.2 ROM for your system to see if MuMove4K still hangs afterwards. That way you will know for sure if the 'custom' ROM you are using plays a role here or not.

Blitzkick is not needed anymore! Loadmodule does the Job!

Jeah, jeah, I know and I also prefer to use LoadModule, but BlizKick is still an option too.

One advantage of using BlizKick is that you don't have all those files scattered around on your HD in multiple directories in DEVS: L: and LIBS:

Hi Thomas I managed to track down the problem and it's linked to your vinced boot shin's con-handler; if it's inside L: or the rom itself the system hangs when executing mumove4k prior to rebooting, after a 3 finger reboot it works fine on subsequent boots. Removing the boot shin fixes the problem. I hope you'll get some free time to fix this because I really like the boot shin's functionality.

Frankly, I'm not sure whether I'm here on the right track, but I'm attaching an experimental vnc.library which deferres the allocation of its TmpRas as far as possible. This is the only piece of chip mem the library requires, and which may potentially be in the way of MuMove4k.

I guess it's still needed if you got a 3.0 ROM on the motherboard... ?

With this the system doesn't hang but shell_vnc doesn't open and the boot shin doesn't seem to do anything (is not possible to scroll standard shell).

Then you should remove your old upload from post #826.

Something else, concerning your intuition.library and the "out-of-screen window dragging". Retrofan has reported that the Workbench2000 start and task bar suddenly disappears from the screen after a few seconds. This has also happend whenever I closed another window on my OS 3.9 + 3.1.4 system with your the new intuition.library installed. On 3.2 this library and the new features seem to be installed by default according to the FAQ.

It's not required to install Workbench2000, you can start it out of its drawer, but it needs MUI 3.8, WBstart.library and some other things like info.datatype.

It's not "my intuition.library". Actually, it never was, and it even less so is now. Please report to the team, I'm not an AmigaOs developer.

Sorry Thomas, I thought you were at least one of the authors of intuition.library. (no, I mixed it up in my memory with layers.library ... or the truth got an update and I missed it ???)

I hope that the devs of 3.2 are reading this thread and could have a look at this issue that Retrofan has reported. I don't need Workbench2000 or any docks on my system.

Also AfA OS seems to be unsupported by the intuition.library, but I may be wrong.

Oh it works! Thank you a lot. It works even with mumove4k blizkick module, so we can patch the rom itself and with only one reboot or even without if you burn and install your eproms we get exec in fast mem and all the other goodies from mufastzero.

If you have access to 3.9 media, copy Unarc over. Otherwise Voodoo-X
http://aminet.net/util/arc/Voodoo-X.lha is a good alternative. Both require xadmaster and consequently, supports many different archive formats.

If I remember correctly, UnArc from OS 3.9 has problems with files/directories containing spaces in the name, it replaces them with underscores. I'm using MUIUnArc instead.

With Unarc 3.9 you will need the resource.library and xadmaster v9

TKUnpacker also works fine on OS 3.2:
