We loved this computer. That's why some of our best CPC coders are french.

My ex-boss was even an ex-member of logon system !

If you see a hardware guide to adding a tape input to a "6128 plus" then please point me towards it.

I have one guide from UK magazine Amstrad Action but it does not give values for the resistor or transistor you must fit to the appropriate spaces on the motherboard.

I've got the Dizzy collection box sets for both Speccy and Amiga and they are all mint with posters etc,

I think these are the most treasured of my Retro collection.

If you have a CodeMasters CD Games Pack I'd be interested in acquiring a copy and making my own lead.

I double checked with the seller who said it's in great condition with absolutely no yellowing and the seal is still intact! (so no broken case clips ).

Ok i received my A600 today, it's not "as new conditon" described in the listing but after a quick clean it will look great

My A600 arrived fully boxed and is part of the "the wild, the weird & the wicked" pack. The thing that caught my attention is the relatively low serial number: 000441 (made in the UK)... Does this mean it will have the first revision A600/A300 motherboard with the crappy 37.299 rom installed? I've not got round to testing it yet.

Turn on your A600 and you see the Kickstart version.

Thats the best test, you could easily pick up some second hand later 37 roms from ebay if you need to change it.

I got round to testing it (after hunting down a spare RGB lead ) It has Kickstart 37.300 installed which is still not great! I have tried loading a few games and most of them give me a "software failure" screen but they work on my A500 and some on my A1200! Could this be a floppy drive fault? also some disks do not eject properly

nope just 1 sticker on the disks (originals) but what can be causing the software failure? i have tried about 20 games now and 90% of them start loading, then the A600 resets with the "software error" screen! I'm sure the eject mechanism on the disk drive is an easy fix (i hope) it just feels a bit weak at pushing the disks out

Dunno for sure, but I think a faulty disk drive would result in read/write errors and not software failures. Would say it's the 2.05 kickstart.

If you already have a working drive on the A1200 why not swap it over temporarily to test on the A600?

I received my 2 CD32s this weekend, one in great condition from Paul_s here and one in poor cosmetic condition from ebay. So I have backup machine for my new Amiga family collection!

Seems to much hassle i think maybe TCD is right and it's the 2.05 KS... I only wanted the A600 to replace my bulky, space hungry A500 and it was going to be used mainly for running my old floppy collection (as my A1200 hates quite a few older floppy games!). I tried using a head cleaner but it made no difference I've also contacted the seller to see if they actually tested it (listed as good working order!).

I actually have WHDLoad on my A1200 and i have a couple of A500's which are too big to keep! My main A500 has got a GVP HD8+ and extra floppy drive etc... It's huge! I just wanted something more compact and portable so that it can be easily put away when not in use (seems a waste not to use some of my floppy game collection as i have hundreds!).
