Hi Abaddon,

Many Thanks for Your IPF from US version.

I just asked To stingRay to have a look on it to support this US version.

I don't know if It is already supported by The Slave 1.6.

Best Regards,

Pascal

Nice one

Abaddon has 2 of my dumps of Flimbos Quest and it turns out my 2 dumps seem to load the Story using F2 but Abaddons dump doesn't so I think he's looking into why! He also sent me the IPF's he created from my dumps which do indeed load the Story, hopefully he can work out why his version has the Story problem!!

Ok, here is the whole deal :

System 3 issued the first release of Flimbo's Quest (v1) with a mastering error, making the introduction not loading.

System 3 printed a small sheet of paper stating that the intro choice must not be used.

I have preserved and SPS as well Flimbo's Quest Revision 2, which has the introduction fixed and that can be loaded.

I own revision 2 of Flimbo's Quest, and also a paper from Ubisoft who send the new version with an explanation.

If you want i can upload the scan of the letter on HOL.

The version I own is the one with the mastering issue.

To bad System 3 never discovered that Tusker had a mastering error. The ending (starting from the scale) is messed up in both the retail and budget releases.

You can ask meynaf. He can easy convert graphics data from Atari ST to Amiga and You can replace corrupted data. For end music, if I remember right data are OK. From my memory I ripped/found for Tusker game 2 music sets. One in TFMX format (used in game) and one in Jeroen Tel aka Maniacs of Noise old format, unused in game, maybe from beta version of preview, I dont remember.

The budget releases is in my kryo folder. I discovered the issue when I did the last update the the WHDLoad install and wrote the walk through for it. I played through using the official IPFs and the Atari ST release (which is where I got the screen shots for the end for the walk through).

@Don_Adan - As I recall the scale graphics and the final picture of the Elephant graveyard are corrupt. Not sure if there was an issue with the music. I'm pretty sure I checked the cracked versions that were available at the time as well. It would be nice to have a fully working version of the game. If I get some time I will take another look at the game and reach out to meynaf.

The easiest way is rip all files from both Amiga and Atari ST versions. Depack files, if are packed. Later compare data for same files. And check how ST files are converted to Amiga format. Later convert necessary files from Atari version to Amiga. If only graphics files are damaged then this is easy job.
